Its no good stating something is factually incorrect but not backing it up with providing the more coherent logical information.

Imagine going to your maths teacher and saying Sir that equation is incorrect, if he asks HOW and you say I cannot pin point it as I need to learn more maths he will seriously LAUGH at you lol

Ermm interesting yet a little contradicting at times *with some false statements*... But than again what do you expect from Islam being brought to you by the BBC.

Anyway it was pretty much what I expected... Dry iyo from a western prespective..

What is it with you guys and saying some bits are false and yet not mention exactly what is and where they got it wrong... :? :? :?

Asalaamu alikum all, I thought it was pretty good. Do remember this is for the wider audience, not Muslims only.

So what?

Do you think we are allowed to stoop low to accommodate bigotry?

It did not deviant to much from the muslim traditional seerah. The only things that were off was especially during the time Arch angel Jabril came down to Nabi Muhammad scw, Rageh says "according to muslim sources, Muhammad was sleeping, when all of a sudden he felt a tightness, and then it let go.. and happened for a third time and he heard a voice saying Read", that account is incorrect because he never mentions Nabi Jibril, nabi muhammed wasn't sleeping when it occured to him, and then when he goes down to Khadija, another inaccuracy was the lack of mention of her telling him to go to her cousin Waraqa, who was a christian scholar, and familiar with the gospel, and how he told him he was the "namus" or the awaited prophet. That also brings me to another inaccuracy, which was when they described the atmosphere of his birth, how very little amount of people noticed it. It could be possible to say that, but there was definitely among the jews, and christian scholars anticipation of a coming prophet. Which explains the presence of the Jews in medina which they knew to be the place where the prophet would reside, also such companions as Salman al Farsi who migrated from persia in the hope of being with that prophet to come scw.

The_Patriot wrote:The doc is very shallow.

He doesnt mention the fact that Mecca was called Bakkah even the Quraan calls it this way.

As for the non islamic narratives Bakkah is mention in the Psalms.

Walaahi I have never heard that the prophet was rejected by his uncles when he proposed to marry one of their daughters.
this is the beginning of lies Rageh.

I mean trying to act Uncle Tom.
The first part was dealt with that christian priest who mentioned becca very quickly, saying mecca wasn't a very important city at all.

As for the second part, this is a very well known part of the early seera, where the prophet did ask to marry the daughter of Abu Talib but rejected and mentioned to him that he already promised her for so and so. You not hearing about this says more about you than Rageh. Sad mate you just shot yourself in the foot.

This at the very least proves that it is out there, it wasn't made up by "bbc" nor by "western orientalists", so man up and instead of dismissing it as a pure lie because You never heard of it, admit that their is a possibility.

This was before he married Khadija, so he wasn't even 25 yet. First time I heard it was in Martin Lings biography, The Life and times of Prophet Muhammad. And that is among the top seerah's especially in english eventhough its not 100%
