you fools...we have lots of non-Somalis that read these forums...and instead of searching high and low for things that r unique to us in our culture...you say stupid things! uffff
We have tons of things that make us unique wallahi....we have the dirac, UUNSI (although many other countries use it, it came from us!!!), sadex qayd, guntiino, Darin Somali aka Sali Somali but its very wide and long----many people can sit on it, Gambar, Xeero, our unique rural hut aka aqal Somali, Mallawax, our unique way of making Sambus, Odkac, Somali cat, our DANCES, our MUSIC, Halwa, and the way we talk with our hands

My non Somali friend was walking with me in the Somali-Mall once and I kept calling every lady Eedo, and she knew what Eedo meant so she asked me if my family owned this mall.

A Trillion dollars in debt walking, fast food eating, ignorant flooding, pot melting of the worse types of people is not beautiful, at least not for you grand kids it won't be.
Why don't you come back to Canada, the great white north instead?

"Hagbad" is not unique to Somalis. It is the poor man's micro-finance and came to Somali through poor Italian laborers. Most of Somalis know it as ayuuto after the Italian aiuta (help).

1. ''The Beden is an ancient Somali maritime vessel that remains the longest surviving sewn ship in East Africa. Its shipyards predominantly lie in the Hafun region, and the ship's modern usage is chiefly for fishing. The ship's construction style is unique to Somalia and significantly differs from extinct sewn ships of Arabia, South India and adjacent islands. An average Beden ship measures 10m or more and is strengthened with a substantial gunwale, attached by trenails. The Somali fishermen also use stone anchors to prevent their ships from being drawn to the shore when fishing.."

2. According to Strabo the People of the Somali coast were the first to have a clear understanding/knowledge of the seasonal shifts in the Indian Ocean and the Red Sea.. Which is today known as Monsoon.
