It is sad that this day has come so soon. I was hoping we might have had another few years yet. We we are seeing today, unfolding before our very eyes, is the de-facto annexation of the country formerly known as Somalia by foreign countries, gaalo countries; our neighbouring countries. Lets not deny, suger-coat it or deceive ourselves. This is the pinnacle of the effort of those who have plotted for the destruction of the Somali nation for a long time.

It is the saddest thing that some among us, even here on Somalinet, believe that governments such Ethiopia or Kenya, were our saviours, when they are nothing but our staunchest enemies. It is utterly logic-defying, that despite the obvious geo-political, economic and historical policies of these governments towards Somalia, some among us think they genuinely have our interests at heart, that they are here to 'help' us. Why would Kenya empower us when it perceives that it is in its interests not to do so? When Kenya massacred and ruthlessly oppressed them and even even today they are discriminated, marginalised and neglected, sentenced forever to be enemies of the state, condemned forever to be foreigners in their own land (see this video They are today reduced to begging and bribing for what is their most basic right, their right by birth. There is nothing worse than being oppressed in your own home. Why would Ethiopia empower us when it perceives that it is in its interests not to do so? When Ethiopia massacred, and continues its policies of genocide; ruthlessly oppresses even the Somalis in its own country, who inhabit the Ogaden region roughly 1/3 of Ethiopia, let alone those outside; even today they are discriminated, marginalised and neglected, sentenced forever to be enemies of the state, condemned forever to be foreigners in their own land.

Sheikh Shariif is either the greates traitor of the Somali people post-2006, or one of the biggest, most naive, fools. The conflict in Somalia seized to be a 'civil war' a long time ago.

It took me a while before I could respond to this thread, cadho iyo ciil aawadeed. Tolay maanta Amxaar, Kenyaati, Burundi, Ugandi, Sierra Leone and others Somalia qaybsanayaan. Somaliyeey idinkaa halkaa is dhigay ... lax walibay halkay is dhigtaa lagu gawracaa. RIP Somalia. This is indeed a dark day. May Allah save what remains of you.

yh it is ambigious ... if you read it on its own rather than part of the sentence

Taa ajanabi ka dhaadici could either mean convince that foreign woman or try to convince the foreigners of that.

The ending of the sentence was the reason why I thought you either had a stroke while you were typing or that your Somali was worse than mine

I think I need SSL.

When you were deliberating the meaning, did the 'foreign woman' scenario not strike you as unlikely though ? The only way it would have the meaning of the part in bold is if (a) we were in the same room and (b) there was a ajanebi woman with us ; since this is not the case, had I meant that in bold, assuming we are aware of an ajanebi woman, I would have used Tii instead of Taa [ajanebi], since the 'foreign woman' is not here now, and I would possibly also have added aheyd to make it clear. As for the ending of the sentence ... yh its a mess, im a lazy typer sometimes and full-stops, commas all get thrown out the window

Taa (i.e. that) ajanebi ka dhaadhici

v.s.

Tii (i.e. her) ajanebi ka dhaadhici (followed by x,y,z you want her to believe) or Tii ajanebi ahayd ka dhaadhici (followed by x,y,z you want her to believe)

^ Putting aside my lack of use of commas, ful stops etc. The Somali language is easy. It is difficult to get sentence structure wrong as there are many, many ways to say the same thing. It may be possible that someone is used to saying something in only one way and therefore frowns upon hearing other ways of saying the same thing.

Ajahanab OR Ajanebi
Tii ajanebi ka dhaadhici ...
Ka dhaadhici tii ajanebi
Tii ajanebi [ga ah] waxaad ka dhaadhicisaa ...
Waxaad ka dhaadhicisaa tii ajanebi [ga ah] ...
Waxaad tii ajanebi [ga ah] ka dhaadhicisaa ...
Ajahanab/Ajanebi tii ahayd waxaad ka dhaadhicisaa...
