Our program is simple: we wish to govern Somalia. They ask us for programs but there are already too many. It is not programs that are wanting for the salvation of Somalia but men and will power.

Who is ''we'', your alien buddies from space? since humans in Somalia are fast becoming extinct.

How can you claim to be an 'islamist' party when you're contradicting the very fundamentals of Islam? Islam drafts its rules and Laws from the Quran and Sunnah, whilst the AKP and Enahdaa, are forced to use man-made constitutions which super-cede the Quran and Sunnah. They only use the religion as a leeway to enter into power and to appease the disgruntled muslims, its just petty lip service.
Nacam.

True Muslims should never vote for Enahdaa.
True Muslims should never vote, period!
I hope the Islamist Tunisians will realize that come next election season....

You would be surprised to find out that my mode of thinking is not all that rare.

Democracy does not exist anywhere on this planet, and cannot exist. Let's not mistake the West's Corporatocracy/Oligarchy for what it isn't.

We simply believe in abandoning any pretenses of "democracy" and ruling the country with an iron fist, for the greater good of the nation.

For my part, I prefer fifty thousand rifles to five million votes 8-)

The basic concept of people choosing their leaders or having representatives choose them is not alien to Islam and is in fact part and parcel of its history

amazing how these two mentalities shown by union and grandpa is the reason why the muslim world is the way it is

FAH, don't mistaken choosing a competent leader among a knowledgeable council(, whose goal is bring God's law reign supreme, to a bunch of ignorant laymen choosing leaders based on their own whims and desires. The former is perfectly acceptable and was practiced by our predecessors while the latter is a concept completely contradictory to Islam.

But I would not expect an active participant and ardent supporter of the US government to understand these key differences.

From Islamist blogger:
Where's the Islam in those "Islamists?" Seems to me, anyone can be called an Islamist nowadays. Rached Ghannouchi is a murtad and the new government is far from Islamic, and is still a secular taghoot regime, ruling by man made law while ignoring the commandments of Allah. May it fall.

yes shura is correct, but it is not the same as democracy, that requires a man-made constitution, elected representitives (instead of one amiir) etc.

So basically an oligarchy chooses an Amiir and if he's batshit insane, oh well!

That's not insane at all

I rather have someone I elected rather than some big beard Amiir telling me what to do. At-least I won't be called an apostate when I arm myself against the government.

 Indeed. If we let Union have it benevolent securalist dictators like the Assad family and Hosni Mubarak would rule until time immemorial

Its either alShabaab/ Taliban/Iran or Assad for those who have little grasp of history beyond recent events. No middle grounds or no other alternatives....and when the facts prove otherwise twist the narrative to suit your own agenda

Good article on Ghannouchi's philiosophy, and books that he's been writing for decades. Great reads in Arabic as well

Also  @ union getting his political views from the islamicawakening forum
