No SNM had both Unionist and those that wanted re independence they both existed but the SNM never spoke about it untill 1991 about the future plans of Somalia and Somaliland.
But addow can we say that it was wise that a section of the USC elects Ali mahdi as president in 1991 while there was hardly any shirweyne between Somalia and the clans of Somalia and also with in the USC it self Addow Abgaal folks are good people and smart and they have produced great Somali leaders through out the history, but as people they are not as Nomadic and hard as their habargedir cousins who know all the sick tricks of the jebertis in particularly the Majeerteens
