I hope people can benefit from this thread. The only concern I have about this thread is if people are revealing that they are not praying might actually have a negative impact. Because the more people share that they are not praying then then less guilty others feel about about their sin. But we need to have that guilty feeling because it may encourage us to do better. People shouldn't feel better about their sin.
Just my 2 cents
Anyways, I hope we give guidance to each other and something positive comes out of this thread.

What I don't get is why this thread was made? It's not right for you to expose your sins. Allah may forgive you for your sins if you ask for forgiveness and conceal it from the people. Some of you seem like you're bragging about not praying subhan'Allah.

i started this thread to start a dialogue about prayer and encourage those not praying regularly to start doing so. Allah forgive's all sins except for kufr, but if you don't pray, there's a good chance you might go to hell because allah says in the quran: "What led you into Hell-Fire? They will say; 'We were not of those who prayed".
now, establishing regular prayers could be a way for allah to forgive you of your sins. because allah talks about those who believe and do righteous deeds in the quran, and the most important righteous deed is the regular prayer. if you establish regular prayer and inshaa allaah join that noble category, those who believe and do righteous deeds, then allaah promises you forgiveness.
the ayah in the quran is: "To those who believe and do deeds of righteousness has Allah promised forgiveness and a great reward". so everybody, if you're praying regularly, please try to pray on time and pay attention in the salah, and if you're not praying regularly, please do yourself a favor and start praying regularly.

Great thread, heartening replies. The Salaada Struggle continues
Was consistently at A a couple of years ago, then started a gradual decline to B, C, D, and reached rock-bottom at E

, currently climbing up from the pits of Ghaflah and I'd say I'm at C, hoping to get back to A soon-time, i'A.
Some of you seem like you're bragging about not praying subhan'Allah.
There's only one person(Based) who is, in effect, bragging about not praying, and that's mainly due to the doubts he's been entertaining about Islam for quite some time now. Doubt --> Cyncism --> "I'm too smart to believe in organized religion".........Met a few Somalis like that, lotta turmoil in their life(alcoholism, etc).
Everybody else is expressing remorse/guilt.

Leftist,
Not to mention that you are looked at oddly for being a tarakulsalat.

^^ Yup, I'm sure you heard about the imam in minesotta(i think) who refused to pray janaza on a taarikul salaah and the ensuing controversy.
Personally, I think the Imam should've just made the janaaza and spared the deceased's family, but it certainly is a cautionary tale for those who openly mock and/or refuse to pray.

Based,
You came of age in the wrong time. Pre1991, you would have fit in and would be espousing Leninist, Marxism, Engels and Barre and torturing these religious zealots in detention centers until they accepted Marx as their personal savior.

I'm just amazed by (the oddly named) Leftist's bizarre attempt at psychoanalysis.
Although, your scenario does admittedly sound wonderful.
