Haye now answer the question
u say tomato I say tomaato.. no one is qaldan.. well u say yanyo and that's...funny actually lol

but seriously the Somali language is diverse in dialect and that's a wonderful thing.

Koonfurian isn't offensive and I don't even know what Walanweyn means, does that mean crazy? If so yes it's offensive.
Non Somalis people will use either Somali or Somalian on any Somali. But now amongst Somalis on Snet and other websites Somalian is be using specifically for Ex Italian Somalia people. Someone even used it before I posted. Just an observation

don't know the definition of Walanweyn just who it is directed too

If I recall how someone explained it, Wanlaweyn is a small town some where near Mogadishu and during a referendum that took place in 1960s, the vote count that came from Wanlaweyn was a lot higher compared to the real population size, that is how it all started. Then it transferred from referring to the fraudulent poll outcome to generalizing it to mean Southerners.

Qaldan I do not think it is offensive and I wonder if that term existed before 1960s. I was told when the Northerners went to Mogadishu after the union since it was the center of everything back then. People of Mogadishu referred them as such since they talked differently.

So, one group referring Southerners as practicing corrupt politics and the Southerners returning the favor by describing them as having a corrupted language is nothing but an old school of nomad love sharing.

Zuli I wouldn't call you qaldaan, I don't associate you with any geographical location you're just female and I mean that as a compliment. I think it's because we never speak in af Somaali. I wouldn't call Helwaa that either now that I think about it, don't know why I guess the focus is never on how we're speaking more so on what we're talking about.

But in a conversation about af Somaali I can't help but use that word when someone from the north says "say meydh" then it has to come out

I didn't know Walanweyn came from that. I did wonder why they picked on that tuulo out of all the others, just assumed it was because of the funny name
