Saudis are first priority, you are better off searching for jobs in Qatar, Kuwait and etc.
That's not necessary true..
No one wants to hire Saudis, not even Saudis themselves.. They are well known to be lazy and unreliable. Saudi companies are required to reserve certain jobs for Saudis such as HR, recruitment, reception work etc which results in many organizations being really difficult to work for as Saudis tend to do the bare minimum and professionalism is nonexistent.

My brother and his wife work for Aramco and they are required to train Saudis in order for them to replace them lol they've been doing this for many years yet the trainees still don't know the basics lol.

who is more lazier, saudis or somalis?

Sensationalist bullshit thread.
It's the truth. There's nothing sensationalist about it. If it wasn't the truth there wouldn't be this level of butthurt at my observations. Listen if people can provide proof for all these claims, provide them.

I'm the only one in my family that studied social sciences

my sister is doing pre-med, will probably go to PA school first

my brother is doing information systems, the youngest one is doing computer engineering

my father is a civil engineer by trade, though his professional experience is in business/accounting

Wallahi, I admire this guy. I first read about him a couple of years ago and his story inspired me.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of Somalis can't emulate him.

What constitutes a meaningless degree?

If someone pursues a degree that is relevant to a field they are interested in and relevant to work they hope to have in the future, then I don't think it is meaningless at all.

Political sciences, business, and nursing seem to be the most common with Somali youth and it's perfectly worthwhile if they hope to work in the government, become a businessman or woman, or become a nurse. Those who study to get a degree that is irrelevant to any work they would like to get, then it's most likely that they are just unsure about what they want to do. That's a common issue with undergrads and it's nothing to be ashamed of.

the issue is not whether the 3 degrees most common with somali youth you've mentioned yields any job in the future or not. But, i sense a lot of the somali youths choose those degrees not because they enjoy doing it, but because they do it because their friends are doing it, or a family member did it, and so, we have an epic imbalance of significant amount of somali grads in those fields and significantly lower amount of grads in say the science, architecture, construction, engineering, teachers (those things that is really really needed in their own country)

Hey! That's the only stereotype I fit, okay? It's not like I eat bananas with my dinners and have a forehead higher than Frankenstein's monster. :(

@Farhan
Good point. I guess I was just questioning the use of the word "meaningless".

I don't know about you guys but most Somalis I know attend college. Although most go to community college for 3-4 years if not more.

Guys typically study IT or Computer Science
Girls study Nursing or International Relations/Conflict Resolution

I am studying to become a Physicians Assistant Insha'Allah.
