Ximan, who can trust you? Siad Barre was just like you. He was against the corruption of Sharmarke's government and the lack of national unity. Look what he ended up doing.

Re: The importance of unity (All about UNITY thread)
Harti were not the only Daarood clan that were cleansed from Xamar. Infact it was Mareexaan that suffered the most attack from both Hawiye and Raxanweyne during the civil war and you don't see Mareexaan complaining today, we work happily in Mogadishu and are always ready to unite with all Southern clans.STARKAST wrote:Sxb why are you so angry all the time ? Calm down dear.
Puntland only exists because Harti were tribally cleansed from Xamar this less than 20 years ago. Also because Xamar as the capital was defunct for the last 20 years and counting. Now that wasn't so hard now was it ?
As your for your two faced comment ? Its called Politics. See Machiavelli: Virtù/Fortuna and the Lion/fox......
But don't worry its ok to be mad at reer Puntland, because it is them solely who are blocking your succession bid, but simply being semi-autonomous + our Hawiye kin.
Would you be a unionist if you got your fair share in the Somalia, or do you just hate your own ethnic group, you should follow your mate Gurey25 instead of acting like a child, 1 clan can not become a country, the UN/Puntland will not allow it ?
It is you Kablalax mainly the Harti that are so tribalistic and anti-unity. You guys are so desperate to be leaders hence why you are so pro-federalism.

Siad Barre was a leader of over 20 years, and from majority of his rule we can see he brought national unity and self-reliance to Somalis. You cannot deny that he was strong stateman that has done many good things for Somalia.hydrogen wrote:Ximan, who can trust you? Siad Barre was just like you. Besides what does Siad Barre got to do with me? I'am my own individual person, just because he hails from the same clan as me don't me I will have the same ideology as him. Though I support most of his nationalistic and pan-somali ideology.

No. I'm saying that he was all for 'unity' just like you. It has nothing to do with your clan (although yours is more prone to self-enhancement) but rather the narrative that has failed Somalia. Everyone unites? Unite for what? How can anyone trust anyone else in the union? Do you not understand that Somalia has been though nationalism? You can't repeat a narrative and expect it to work a second time because no one will believe since they are cognizant of it.XimanJaale wrote:Siad Barre was a leader of over 20 years, and from majority of his rule we can see he brought national unity and self-reliance to Somalis. Re: The importance of unity (All about UNITY thread)
It is not nationalism that failed but Somalis have failed because they have turned away from nationalism or unity amongst themselves. No country in the world can develop and be peaceful without national unity. Unity between different ethnic groups, religions and fractions for the sake of the country.hydrogen wrote: No. I'm saying that he was all for 'unity' just like you. In our case, we Somalis as one people need to unite for the sake of our country.
How do you expect Somalia to get back into peace without unity? What other thing will you recommend? All clans in Somalia to secede and create their own nations? You need to accept and all Somalis need to understand that without unity this forsaken country will never move on.

The only people genuine about this unity thing use to be the Hawiye, that's before Uncle Sam showed them Benjamin's and made them the Pashtuns of Somalia. Now even they have realised that this Somali unity is just a cover for self interest.
Respect to them

I don't have time to point fingers at different clan, I'am above it and I don't see it as a solution to point fingers. But replying to your comment, I disagree. It was Hawiye that started to rebel against the central government in Mogadishu. It was Hawiye that overthrew the government, but the big question is...what did they replace it with? How come they never united with the people to establish a new government? The only thing they did was fight Daaroods and Raxanweyn, and when they stopped fighting them they started the fight against each other i.e. Caydiid VS Mahdi.skywalker25 wrote:The only people genuine about this unity thing use to be the Hawiye, that's before Uncle Sam showed them Benjamin's and made them the Pashtuns of Somalia. Anyways, pointing fingers will only escalate things. We need to be more advanced and civilised and to accept all our responsibility and unite and forgive each other.
