My daughter has a Islamic name wouldn't really call it a Arabic name. Even Arabs have ditched their unique Arab names for Islamic ones. Or maybe Islamic and Arabic names are inter-twinned. Oh well?!

But traditional Somali female names I like are:

Luul
Aragsan
Idil
Ayaan
Beydan
Asli
Asili
Suuban
Waris
Warsan
Bureeqo
Ugaaso
Barni
Ceeblo
Istar
Saxarlo

InshaAllah my next future daughter I will call her Beydan :) and my future first son I will call him Sade 8-)

Adeero, wanting to keep our original indigenous names is now bashing Islam? This is why we are so retarded. Any pride to be Somali and only Somali is considered anti-Islam.

Ya hala w sahla feek Waayeel, it's been a while, welcome back :)
Walal like I said, the mother of one of my best friends from yr1 ibtidaa2i (primary) was called Suufi, and it reminded me of cudbi, same meaning... that's where I got it from anyhow.
