Yeah, I can't see the video but if they're not frying it with sugar, it's not legit cambaabur. It's done in two steps...the first step is to make it like a regular laxoox (the dough is premixed with a number of different spices that are not used with regular laxoox)...then the second part is to fry it with the sugar until it's shaaxidHyperactive wrote:skippa, in the video, they making like la7oo7. maybe they are not original in the video. lol

Odkac and malawax are actually Yemeni ...however we put our own spin on it. The Yemeni Odkac is similar to our beef and chicken suqaar and their malawax is our sabayad.

Malawax is actually Jewish Yemeni. When all the Yemeni Jews/Teimonim did aliyah to Israel, they made it really popular there.

Two kinds of canjeero / laxoox: (1) Habashi one; (2) Somali one. The two are different since the Somali one is much smaller. Not sure the origin though.BaastoUnit wrote:Al

As for Muufo, that is definitely a Somali native food in Southern part of Somalia - one of my favorite Somali dishes. And since it is either made out of corn or sorghum, it gives you more energy, it helps your digestive system, and and it also builds up your bones. This is the reason why before basriis and baasto introduced, we (Somalis) used to be strong people. Nowadays, we are called and known in the world as shinnies.
