Re: What Somalis think of Xamar cadcad people
I'm closing this thread as it has caused some of the hearts to hold grudges against each other. I'm sorry if I have offended anyone. We are brothers and sisters in Islam and are all from Adam (as). Let's join to defeat tribalism, nationalism and hatred amongst the rank of Muslims!

My brothers and sisters remember that life is short. I'm 21 now and double that is 42 just to give you an idea of how short life is. No one would care about what tribe you belonged to in qiyaamah, say no to racism! If a person beats you by one good deed then he still beats you! Whether he is from Jamaica, Nigeria or Japan. Race in doing good deeds and to get closer to Allah 'azza wa jal.
استبقو بالخيرات يا إخواني و أخوات
I repeat I am sincerely sorry.
Asalaamu alaaykum warah matullahi wa barakaatuh!

Muhammad Bin Abdulrahman Bin Awf had no son named Uthman. Shanshiyo have nothing to do with Abdulrahman Bin Awf " رضي الله عنه " and they never claimed descendant of any Sahabah until many fled to Yemen post 1991.AlHatimiWalShashi wrote: One recent example is Shaykh Sufi, following in the footsteps of his ancestors who is from my grandmothers tribe and they trace their lineage to Uthman ibn Muhammad ibm Abdulrahman ibn Awf, very known and respected family amongst minorities. Yes we are a singular group from different backgrounds but usually intermarry amongst ourselves (hence how I'm Arab and Persian). Our status is Somalia has diminished as we were once rulers of Mugadishu and during the war most left Somalia as we were weak and small in number. Our women were raped and our property looted. Hence why I was born in Yemen. We went from owning majority of the lands to not even an area to our name, not even xamarweyne.
As Xplaya said "cadcad and Xamar for us are an oxymoron".
You can't be both Hatin and Shanshiyo. Hatin are from Baraawe and Shanshiyo are from Mogdishu " Xamar ". Reer Xamar share more things with Reer Marka than Reer Baraawe and Reer Baraawe share more things with Tuuni than Reer Xamar.
I think you guys are the best folks in Xamar "Somalia". You just need to stop repeating asylum seekers' stories " Our girls have been raped and our property looted " and claim your own land "city" and government seats. Better do it now before it is too late. Trust me it is matter of time before you guys lose your identity in the west. To me you are more Somali than most of reer Somalia " South " if not all.

Asalaamu alaaykum I know my mum is a shanshiyo of Persian stock and DNA proves this. As for Hatimis is well agreed upon that they are Arabs. Btw not all shanshiyo have the same origins as there's a specific branch called Imamke. Yes there is a 'uthman ibn Muhammad' and this wasn't a recently claim, it's rather ancient. Is it hard for you to believe that some reer xamar are Arab? Although not as many as people think. Wouldn't family's J1 DNA convince you? Although I don't care whether you're convinced or not. I'm of Arab stock and I can't change that. We went to Arabia and linked our families with the hatimis over there. You don't get our clan system lol. That's alright though.

We didn't come out of nowhere, we are just foreigners and some of us have been here for a long time. You are telling me to claim land, do you want me to get shot?

The word shanshiyo comes from shahanshah which is a Persian word for 'king of Kings'. mogudishu means Maq'ad (seat) shah (king). This is not a coincidence NO ONE would want to name their city after another empire unless they were ruling over them. I'm guessing the word shanhanshah changed to shanshi because of the use of 'ya mutakalim' anybody who knows Arabic grammar will know what I'm talking about.

About our women being raped and property looted THIS IS A FACT! How dare you! This happened to my immediate family! You do know that we owned most of the properties and stuff?! Did we just decide to give them awa?!! RIDICULOUS! You also say we should claim our own government seats LOL you think everyone would allow that? They would allow people who are not even 0.5% of the population be governments? Your an interesting person, I look forward to your comments.

What do you mean reer xamar share more things with reer Marka. You obviously don't know what your talking about. If you mean in terms of genes reer xamar and reer marka is the same thing! Well obviously Arab/Persian/Portuguese/Indian barawaanis are more likely to have things in common with tunnis as they live among them! When Hatimis came to barawa it was Tunis who welcomed them. Hatimis were described as Arabs, olive skinned and excessive body hair and many of us still are today. I don't see how any of this is relevant to anything that's been mentioned though. I dislike it when people speak about that which they have no knowledge of! Some Somalis think they know our history better than me lmao, they get a few citations here and there but I would hear oral traditions since my childhood and you could probably learn something from me, trust me what I have been taught is wayy more accurate then any half-baked fictitious texts that you quote!

LOL @ there's no uthmaan ibn Muhammad ask the ulama of ansaab bro, he was also known as the ancestor of imam Al qaffal and who is known as the ancestor of shaykh Sufi. Ibn Batuta mentions 300 men from Uzbekistan fleeing to modern day Xamar. Most were Persian, but some were Arabs. Note he did NOT mention their tribes.

Again, you could actually learn from me if you asked me instead of spewing incomplete information. Many of the tribes of the xamar cadcad have different branches from different origins but they were assimilated to the larger tribe for the sake of ease. My tribe is an example. Facts are facts, forgive me if I offended you brother.

Cad caad are kool people who came 500 to 400 years ago.
Reer Xamars are not one qabiil, but a confederation of arabs who migrated to mogadisho during arab rule. persian, hindi, Yemeni and Omani, Shanshi are usually the purest, while you have other sub clans, who mixed with Somali, some who mixed with the Jareer, some who mixed with the digil.
REER Marka cad cad are close to Mogadishu.
Reer Barawe are a mix of digil, tuni, Portuguese and persian.
Pure Asharaf are mix of somali and arab.
And then we have the Arab Somali who came in the last 200/100 years.

Re: What Somalis think of Xamar cadcad people
Some of what you said confirms what I've been taught. We came 400-500 years ago, that's correct. Arabs who came in the last 200/100 years is also correct as I personally met them when I went to Somalia about a year ago. Thank you! At least someone with correct information. I've seen some ancient buildings in xamar with writings on it which looked like Arabic. I believe Yemenis did rule xamar almost 2000 years ago. I met the Indians too we all know each other and I'm related to every tribe of the cadcads lol. There's Greek cadcads but I only heard of one such tribe. Some of these things you won't find on the Internet. The Portuguese being in Somalia is a well known fact too, they tried to take over Baraawa a handful of times and were defeated consecutively. There are minorities almost anywhere in the world! I don't know what some peoples fuss is. We've been in Somalia for years now and the truth is my people fell in love with Somalia and Somali people. Most have left Somalia now and I could assure you if they weren't being oppressed they would of stayed. They probably love Somalia more than most Somalis, I kid you not! It's sad that many have migrated and adopted different languages, their children would learn to fully accept cultures and values other than that of Somalis, it's like we are going extinct! I think my parents would agree with you about us losing our identity.

However I've not mentioned anywhere that Xamar cadcads are one qabil. I'll give you an example, there may be a tribe with less than 2000 and they will make ties and assimilate with larger minority tribes that probably have like 5000-15000 people, there are less than a dozen of such tribes! I also wonder how the Greek ended up here lol! Some of the cadcads are soo mysterious and exotic!

Btw about me being Hatimi and Shanshiyo, I don't mean they are both by paternal tribes. Rather my dads side is Hatimi and Mum's side shanshiyo.

Re: What Somalis think of Xamar cadcad people
One story I heard about the oppression that almost got tears in my eyes was how one Arab and his family were entered upon by Somalis, So he said to them please don't rape my daughters I will let you marry them! They still ended up raping her. You know how Arabs are when it comes to the chastity of their womenfolk! This is not all Somalis though, most I've met were good people.
