BlueNWhite,

Nothing beats Baasto HAwiye. I had the unfortunate episode of not residing in a HAG area for 6 months. My GI system got beat up really badly from a low fiber diet and I was suffering until one day I ran into a Konfuri speaking person at the market. I asked her where I can get Baasto Hawiye and she was able to procure me some. I cooked it and ate it every day for weeks. My GI system was back to form and I even was a happy camper. I wept thinking how much more productive, healthier and happier would the nonBaasto Hawiye people would be if they ate the blessed bean.

Beginning of the year we had Isaaq sisters from Canada staying over at our home in Mogadishu. Once they tasted Baasto Hawiye (c galey) they were hooked and ate it every night for dinner. the funny part was when they called their mom and asked why she never hooked them up with cambuulo.

I only eat it three times a week.

AW

The cambuulo that's left over from dinner is the best breakfast for curing hangover. Dalac bilaash with left over cambuulo, ku tuur basbaas cagaar and you can easily enter Olympic marathon tryouts.

Ina Adeer, when a piece of the stomach is rolled and then wrapped with intestines is called kirish (kirishow) mirish. It's mainly eaten in the South of Somalia.

Is Cigaal competing with Sumu to land a young woman before him? Waa an early mid-life crisis. Garrabkiina Allah gallo.

You have to soak the cambuulo overnight in water. It makes a helluva difference.

Adzuki beans are used in many oriental foods. They are usually made into red bean paste and then into desserts! In Somalia, they enjoy a dish called 'cambuulo' which is adzuki beans with butter and sugar. Since I can't go to Somalia to try it, I made up this version. I hope you like it!

this is what I do

Hiit cardio workout on the treadmill. I start walking slowly about 2 minutes, than jogging about 4 minutes, than I sprint hard for one minute than jog for one minute I do that for about 30 minutes. Do the same on bike about 10 minutes. Then I do back extension exteriors 15 reps. Any other suggestions?

No my friend. Going cold turkey for now!

You're not exactly going cold turkey because beans like aduki, cow peas [used for cambuulo] & haricot etc are pretty carby too, same with fruits. You cannot eliminate it, just reduce your intake depending on how fast you want to see results. 20-50 grams of carbs baruurtu wey kaa dhalaalaysaa whereas at 50-100grams fat loss will be a little slower. Replace the excess carbs aad cunijirtay with healthy fats and protein to keep you satiated.
Going cold turkey on the things I mentioned earlier. Rice, pasta, things that has flour in it, sugary food nd drinks (Except fruits, nd little in my morning coffe) ps, yes beans is a carb but its also rich in Fiber and protein and low in fat.

Got it. :-D

Speaking of cambuulo/beans...there's a species of small green beans (I can't find it online anywhere) that killed my diet lol

I decided no more carbs (laxoox, bariis, baasto etc) and decided to swap it for beans - meaning eating some every meal. Literally just boiled, with a tiny bit of xawaash for flavor....after two weeks I noticed to my dismay my tummy had expanded and I was feeling crazy fluffy so I cut that asap and had to work quick to not let the fluff settle.

Advice: If you're going to eat beans - minimal amounts!

Once a week sounds good, you could eat more oily fish.
