In Ethiopia the Habesha is larger than the Oromos. Even if you exclude Tigrayans - Habesha I think is about the same size as Oromo hence Oromo are not that powerful

Bigbreak, Oromos, themselves, are habesha. Somalis and Dinkas are the only people who are not habesha. By the way, the rest of others are not that influential with the exception of southern nations and Afars. The problem is many federal army ( mainly oromos) are fighting for Amhara cause while their own people are being killed on the way.

^ maybe because Oromos are internally divided along religious lines and possibly clan lines

Army is now majority amhara.

Sbashi, you don't know the difference between federal army and regional liyu forces. Majority of federal army are Oromo. Amhara Liyu and Fano militia are only equiped with machine guns. It is the top genereals who are Amhara since Abiye incarcerated Oromo officers. Yet Oromos have top generals like birhanu Jula, the most senior officer in Ethiopia, but he was given a stern warning not to show solidarity with Oromo cause. Others were either imprisoned or made redundant like Lemma Megersa all done by their own blood Abiye.

Had Oromos unite Addis ababa or Finfine "as Oromos call it" would fall into their hand in a day. Do you have any idea how Amharas are surrounded in every corner by Oromos?

I have to be honest but what's wrong with Ethiopia abolishing the right of any region of theirs to secede and therefore become indivisible? Kenya is indivisible and doesn't even have ethnic regions with their own flag, army etc yet Somalis in North Kenya are not suffering? Unlike Somaliland or Eritrea, no Ethiopian region has ever been an independent country or been a distinct colonial possession of a European power hence why secession from Ethiopia makes no sense

Ethnic federalism without secession is the best scenario ethno nationalists in Ethiopia should expect from now on

How come we (somalis) be united with people that we don't share with culture, religion, and customs? people who are not allowing us basic human rights of education, work, medical, commerece, and free speech. Do you know The micro-business Somali women (sharshaari) are daily confiscated of their goods and handed to non somalis, habeshas, from other regions to sell in Jigjiga and other regions hence why thousand of raw-meat eaters are in the region.
If you love so much Ethiopia why don't you unite them with Somaliland?

Zidane I don't love Ethiopia but Kenya doesn't have ethnic regions nor allow secession yet Somalis there are thriving with peace and incremental development. We just need justice and in particular the Amharas must abandon their supremacism and saviour complex and accept the equality of all ethnic groups and cultures.

That is the difference between Kenya and Ethiopia. Every regime in Ethiopia, in its first years will make lot of promises to Somalis later to be broken and whomever speaks about it would get slain. Look nowhere than Abiye He gave Somalis 1 minister, armed Afars to take Issa lands with the help of the army.

There's a general belief that Somalis in the region are foreigners from Somalia hence to be treated as secon-class citizens.
Haile selasie era, the Somalis were peasants.
Mengistu era, the region was military garrison.
EPRDF era, the biggest atrocities were commited.
Abiye now, it looks as Selaise era is coming back.

How can we live with such society who had been marginalizing us for decades on end?
