I don't like either party. I am not "defending" Israel. Again, you fail to understand. I DON'T LIKE ISLAM OR JUDAISM. I think they are both a crock of shit. If tomorrow all of the Arabs died, I wouldn't care. I don't like Arabs. Ditto for the Jews, I don't like them much either. I have one good friend who was born half Jewish and is a practicing Catholic, and I have one good friend who is his sister and she is a practicing Jew. Those are the only Jews I personally care about. And the only Muslims I care about are Somali. So I don't have a dog in this fight (dog - what an appropriate analogy, given that the Israelis and Arabs are fighting like dogs over a track of meaningless sand).

So I explain what is going on and why. That's not the same as defending. I don't like either group. Muslims are stupid, mindless, adherents to some doctrine propagated by a 7th century sand pimp and Jews are stupid, mindless adherents to a doctrine propagated by several pre-Christian sand pimps who think that God gave them land.

How would it turn out if the situation was reverse and Lebanon was getting $4billion a year in cash, tanks, copters and jet fighters from USA while Israel relied on a small militia of a few thousand? Ratio is ten to one because Israel is dropping bombs from F-16s on residential areas while their opponents are randomly firing short range missiles (mostly no-hitters).

How a military performs and the results that can be predicted are drawn from training and quality of equipment. The IDF has surperior training resources and BY FAR superior equipment.

If you thought I was insinuating in some way that Jewish soldiers are inherently better, that is certainly not the case. Anyone who has carefully studied warfare can tell you, I can take a squad of infantry from any ethnic group and if I give them the same level of training and the same equipment, I will g roughly the same result every time.

I was simply pointing out, as I did much earlier here, that the course of this conflict and it's combat kill ratios are predictable.

If they are so skilled why then are they having difficulty eliminating a couple of thousand men with very basic weapons? Plus, what good would their skill be without the billions they get every year for the past half-century from America? Imagine if Hezbollah had a few hundred tanks, drones and F16's, would it still be 10:1? You can't be serious!

Well, I guess you will tell us how urban combat is difficult and the "enemy is launching attacks from civilian areas" and that the Israelis are merciful and don't want to kill a lot of people.
