I went to Safaarada too, and I vividedly remember the hilly road and baar Aaran, dhagax tuur, sayidka....etc
Canaa nuug, you were right some spoiled kids used to go there, I remeber many birthday parties at Guleed, Taleex
I still have pictures too.
Lady, Mogadishu is the Bomb, I'm planning to go there again soon.
Yeah, if you kept going up that hill & passed Kaambo Boliis, you would come to Jamal Cabdi Naasir hoose dhexe & then Jamal C/Naasir Sare which is where I was. I was in form 1 & boom the war broke out. Shiiish, what a way to go out! If anyone had a clue as to what would happen, I am sure people would have done everything possible to prevent a civil war, but then again it was meant to be, Allah knows best.
Xooga,
Allaha u naxariisto Bare, I was not fond of his politics, but I am now sure that he was better than many men on the political scene today, at least Bare knew how to rule a country full of un-rulable people.

As i've said here before, after reading what I could about him, the man made some positive contributions to Somali culture, as well as some negative ones. Unfortunately the nature of politics is that your legacy is usually associated with the negative.
Boqarad, Done!

Micheal,
I was really young during Siad Bare's era, but from what I now know the man had more positive attributes than negative ones. He was able to implement & enforce many things e.g. implementing a written Somali language which did not exist prior to his government.
His only downfall was giving too much power to many incompetent sub-ordinates who ruled the country as they pleased & of course nepotism which became very widespread.

we're somalis and we always take the law into our own hands so me filling an "A.R." like a lil b!tch is out of the question........ if you're muslim, like you say then you should calling a deceased person by a deragotory name is DEMBI. critisizing the man is one thing but insulting him is another.

i was home-schooled sxb, my dad didn't want teachers being hard on me just because of my family name.
Caan-nuug...What you're trying to say is that only somalis from Somalia are allow to use this forum? My question to you is when did the owners changed the rules that only somalis from somalia are allowed to use this forum??

This rule doesn't apply to you tough since you're DanGirl, just some delusional characters from a fairy land called Somaliland.
