Re: Gedo University...!!
University won't do much if the basic and intermediate education institutions are not adequate. You have to build up the basics before you start thinking of universities in Somali style.
Most of these regions you mentioned do not have enough basics capacity. Who will attend the so called universities?
I am never astounded by claims being made by DS and his sister in these pages, do they get paid for their crazy statements and assertions by the Marexaan clan at large?
'10,000' kids were born in Kismaayo in the last 10 years and they're all reer Koshin' according to deluded DS
That's why I love DS, he is hilarious
Riighaaye, Actually I think schools are pretty abundant, am not sure about Kismaayo or Gedo but I would assume it's the same as in Mogadishu, Afgooye, Merka..where there are schools everywhere (primary through secondary, it's sorta like a business, since all are private and charge fees per term) Even though one wonders what type of curriculum they use, fact is they are there.

Re: Gedo University...!!
Gedo-boy, i did not post this thread to insult anyone. what makes you think that way? and how on earth this thread could be an insult to you and your qabiil? please explain and i need you to prove that. this topic is nothing to do with Islamic Courts, Ceyr, Indha-Cade and any other qabiil related topics. I just posted this to point out the lack of educational system in some Somali provinces such as Gedo, Baydhabo and kismaayo. Let's discuss the issue and dont twist my words, please.
Galol, I am not qabiilist period. Second thing, every gobol should have its own educational system. this means that, people dont need to travel Mogadisho or Bosaaso for a university as Mahamed Siyaad's time. So, there is nothing wrong if Boosaaso and Hiiraan people establish their own universities in order to educate dadkooda.

Riighaye, do you happen to have a link? I searched for a UN Subsidiary by the name of FauSomali to no avail. And how accurate are these stats?
Re: Gedo University...!!
Wise-Man,
1. You know very well that every corner of Somalia is dependent on food aid & NGO support and you have the ignorance here to talk about rich/poor areas of Somalia as if there is some sort of self-sustaining economy somewhere in Somalia with social services. Aside from major cities in Somalia, the only edge some places have over others IS peace.
Although the few universities you mentioned in Somalia are good starts, still koow iyo labo ma joogno. Still, only a priveleged few have access to education and there is no such thing as UNIVERSAL EDUCATION.
And even then, waxaad ku faaneeysaa a few handouts you get from Gaalo who decided you are the poorest people on Earth and the UN has to spend some money over there.
Caqli xumadaada, if you would have known the poverty and LACK of education that exists ALL over Somalia, waad iska amusi laheed instead of trying to take cheapshots at Reer Gedo.
2. You also know that before '91, everybody invested everything they had in Xamar, and even in Xamar, schools are basically a business where only the rich can go to school and the poor have to decide which 3 days of the week to eat a meal.
3. You also know that Gedo has been involved in conflict from '91, later '90s with AlIttixaad, up until the present day.
Xamar had all the assets of Somalia, secondly secondary school there is a private institution.
And then you dishonestly compare Gedo, which has been in conflict and saw some of the worst of the Southern civil war to places like Amoud & Bossasso, which still have the streetlights untouched from the Civil war area and things like paved roads and ports that were actually created by Siad Barre.
Lastly, your tone conveys your veiled hate for Reer Gedo aka Marexaan. You did it during the ICU period under the guise of Islam, and you're doing it now.
Kismayo baad sheegtay, Jubooyinka dhan iyo Gedo ha la isku wado qabto baan oran lahaa with all the friendly Sheikhaals, Gaaljecels, Ogaden, Harti & other tribes.
When you're too nice, you get stabbed in the back.

Ugaas,
Hiiraan University was at the Univ. of Baardheere fundraiser, and they told us that when they were relying on people, Marexaan of Reer Ohio helped them out.........same thing with other projects.
The Dhahabshiil head of US was there and he was saying how in the early days Quran students from as far as Waqooyi Galbeed used to come down to Baardheere to study.
Every Somali project, from Amoud to Hiiraan saxankooda ee nala yimaadeen and we did what we could out of wadanimo

Wise-man is just bitter saaxib. Every since the ICU were sabotaged by Indhacade and other fake wadaads, the nigga done lost it wallahi. Adigana ma caawin ee mishee danqaneese ayaa ka taabanayse maalin kasta. This dude knows that Gedo was occupied by the Habeshi since the early 1990s when the Itaxaad decided to set up bases in Gedo and cross into the border to wage war to liberate Godey.
We should ask him why almost all the schools in Mogdishu are currently closed.
