Re: What Led To Siyad Bare's Downfall?
Majeerten overthrew Siyaad Barre in a sneaky way.
Beesha PaidMonk Hoodwinked Beesha Warsame101 by pretending to brothers in Darood while they worked hard to pit Siyaad against Issaq, Hawiye, Ogaden and all the major qabiils.
1991 Revolution = Payback for SSDF for what the Jalle did to them in 1981-83 when he brutally repressed the Majeerten.

Re: What Led To Siyad Bare's Downfall?
The downfall of Siad was inevitable just as all dictators. He had a good 21 yrs, and neglecting the Northern Somalias socio-infrastructure. The South is looming without any real guidance while the North prospers rapidly with no central government.

You call Siyaad an illiterate monkey? One of the greatest Habar Yoonis poets disagrees with you. Read what he said about Siyaad:
Saciim buu Afriiqiya u yahay saadiq aaminahe
Sida qamarka oogada socda bay sare u eegaane
Sawdkuu la yeedhiyo codkaa loo sid tiriyaaye
Seeftii nasriga iyo wuxu sitaa suuratul ikhlaase
Sagal hooray buu noo yahay iyo seermaweydada e
Sidii lagu tilmaamaba runtii uga sinaad roone
Sidaasay dadweynuhuna kalsoonida dhab ugu siiyeene
I trust Afqallooc's judgement better than yours saaxiib.

What led to Siyad Barred downfall?
Nepotism, high level of corruption in his regime and lack of clan unity brought on by the favoritism his regime displayed. And I don't get this argument that since Somalia has been in chaos post civil war, Barre is supposed to be absolved of his wrongdoings? Barre was a man who was only interested in power, if he wasn't he would've stepped down in 86 when the country was disintegrating, the very fact that he didn't means he deserves the brunt of the blame for the civil war.

Re: What Led To Siyad Bare's Downfall?
could care less what Afqlooc or Af Hagaag said about the monkey Afweyne , fact is he came in power while there was somalia , a nation with institutions , flag , army , politics and he had no credit of what so ever in fighting for that nation, he was wearing an Italian Kooli shorts in may 1960 when the Isaaq and Hawiye giants were creating the Somalia that fed and clothed the Kuumbos , and when he left there was only 10,000 fat Daarood ticks fatened with the blood of somalis and a looted naked skull of a nation in arms .
Re: What Led To Siyad Bare's Downfall?
Truthfully speaking, I think it was during the years he didn't have a firm grip on power.........it was descending into lawlessness a bit.
The truth is that the majority of Somalis abaal ma lahan......they will sing a song for you when you're high and they turn into a combination of vulture/hyena when you have nothing for them.
I think M S Barre saw that and in addition to his predictions about Caydiid/Yussuf, he also said that upon his ouster a viable state would cease to exist.
A brilliant insight from a man who knew Somalis all too well.

Xaarplaya, I can even tell you don't believe your BS.

Are we really talking about 1960-1969 in Somalia?
