Most of the fighting took place in South Mogadishu especially the areas evacuated by Darood and Issaq. The border regions such as Towfiiq and shangani saw the most intense fight. For example, Hotel Towfiiq was leveled to the ground, but if you move inwards towards Suuq Bacad, you won't find a scratch there. Anything beyond Towfiiq and Shangani on the Mudulood side is very intact. Similarily areas such as Bermuda and Medina and Waberi have seen major fighting but they are largely unexploited in terms of infrastructre ETC.

Without any exaggeration, I really believe certain areas of Mogadishu especially North Mogadishu and areas around Suuqa Bakharaha are way better than beforethe civil war. Hopefully when I go back soon, I will take pictures and you can see it for yourself.

Lido is under Mudulood control. I am really against self-segregation. People should be free to move about freely. After, 1997-1998, peopel would move freely in Xamar regarldless of what clan they came from. Alot of HG people own businesses in Suuq Bacad and vice versa.
