yeah, the toshiba cost me around 9,000 Kronor or about $1,100 and i haven't claimed anything yet. i didn't even bother to mention it on the blue customs form coming back into the US.

My God, the US dollar's gone down the drain. Just less than 8 or 9 years ago it was a whoppin' 7 or 8 Royal krs to the Dollar. Its gotta be about 4 or 5 so by now. Anyway, I believe the rule for reembursement is that you've got about a year from the purchasing date on the merchandice, or 90 days after your arrival in the states. So if you are still abroad after that year, you can't return to teh states and reclaim the taxes, same goes if you return to the states and just chill for longer than those 90 days. Have ya? lol. Intrestingly enough, I hear if it was bought from Canada or Mexico due to some provison to the NAFTA, you'd have to get it in before the end of the tax year (4/15) if ya want ur Dough back.
