Pakistan is not the most powerful Muslim army, Egypt, Algeria, and Turkey have vastly superior militaries and they actually control their entire national territory. Only nukes put Pakistan on the map, if it were otherwise it would be a negligible overpopulated Asian state like Indonesia or Bangladesh. And considering feudal state of the Pakistani army and nation overall its quite a shitty scenario to be talking about.
I mean, damn its Pakistan for fucks sake, its hardly even a country.
I never said Paki Talibs were foreigners, but their presence is an insult to Pakistan. The whole autonomy of NW province is an insult. You don't see Turkey negotiating with Kurds or giving them some kind of leeway even though Kurds claim far more autonomy than the Pashtuns. Just saying they don't have the power of the Egyptian and Turk militaries and authorities who give the middle finger and a boot in the ass to any group that tries to be different from the norm. The Pakistani army looks good but their functionality is questionable in times of heat.Murax wrote:First of all the so called Taliban in North Eastern Pakistan are Pashtun, and have been living there for centuries. They are Pakistanis. This notion that some external orginization came in a few months ago and captured it is ludicrious. Secondly, the Pakistani Government Has been actively supporting them during almost all their existance. Even now, the conflict between them is simple: Pakistan doesn't want to totally anhiliate them, because that will be the end of their influence in Aghanistan, yet at the same time they want to make sure the ones in Pakistan don't get out of control to the point Where they cause problems for the Pakistani Government, all the while juggling American pressure.
Btw, even though its not the case, lets take it at face value what You and many othes here are saying that the Pakistani Gov are not able to defeat the Taliban, and that is the reason Pakistan isn't the strongest Muslim Country on earth: Arn't there currently 85,000 NATO troops and 48,000 US troops with 30,000 more on the way, who have not succeeded an inch in subduing the Taliban? The problem is You Guys think the Taliban is friggin ragtag group like Shabab or some shid, they were literily a GOVERNMENT and the strongest militairy bodies on earth today cannot subdue them. Lets keep things in perspective.

The idea of strategic depth plays a central role in Paki Foreign Policy. Basically, it means that since Pakistan is strategically narrow, in the event of war, it should have a room to maneuver. It sees Afghanistan with its Pashtun majority as the natural place to do so. In the event of a war, it would be were Pakistani Oil Tankers would refuel Pakistani Planes which will minimize the effect of any Indian destruction of Paki Bases. For the past many years, it has slowly moved away from this doctrine as it has upgraded its National Highways to serve as temporary runways for wartime landings. But the idea still central to the Psyche of Paki planners.Murax wrote:First of all this shows Why Muslims are the lowest of the low. Instead of being happy for what is by far the strongest Muslim militairy in the world, and hte only Muslim Country with Nuclear weapons We're hating.
Btw, shockingly, I was reading How the Pakistani Government all these years actually do not want to destroy the Taliban all the way in the border areas. Since Taliban was a Pakistani creation (Founded in madrasas in Pashawar) they actually want Taliban to be active in Afghanistan so they can wield considerable influence there. Even Ahmed Karzai many times complianed about clandestine Pakistani support to Taliban. If Pakistan really wanted Taliban gone, they would have destroyed them ages ago, but they want to keep them alive and to only involve in Afghan politics, however at the same time they are getting serious pressure from the US to do something, so they are trying to balance.
Well Said.gurey25 wrote:It would be Pakistan then Turkey followed by Egypt.
Pakistan is a mess politically and economically , but the only functioning part of pakistan is the army and their army is excellent.
The airforce is one of the best trained in the world, the only country outside of NATO that matched thier training levels other than isreal.
Unfortunatley since 1965 they have been screwed by thier friend the US and denied equipment, they had to contend with low tech chinese stuff and whatever they could buy off the french.
Today they are approaching self sufficiency in weapons, and the technological gap with india is closing fast, and becuase they have maintaned thier qaulititive advantage
in trained staff the gap is closing faster.
Just wait fot the J-10 to be introduced and Indias advantage will be cancelled out overnight.
Containing a potential superpower like india with 1million men makes it the number one most powerfull muslim country.
Turkey as a NATO member large and well equiped forces and indigenous technological base makes it number 2.
Iran would normally be number 3 but the Egyptian armed forces are far more capable, but they have a fatal flaw becuase of thier dependance on US technology.
Iran has allot of potential becuase iranian scientists are catching up with the rest of the world at a very fast pace and is one of the few places in the world conducting basic research.
Indonesia has allot of potential, they have thier own aircraft industry, they are starting a space program and even a peacefull nuclear program is on the books
plus from its 200 million plus population 1000 of scientists and engineers are

Granted, its military or population is not large. However, in a limited conflict, it would definitely kick Saudi Arabia's ass. UAE is one of the most underestimated military in the world. It can match Saudi Arabia weapon for weapon. The only thing it lacks is a large population to make it a truly credible military force. It operates the world's most powerful F16 versions and Mirage-2000-9s.Murax wrote:Twisted,
I would put Saudi Arabia over UAE militiarly. Being the darling of the US, they have received some militairy aid. On top of that UAE is simply not large enough to have a effective militiary with a population of 400,000.
