Berbera was not abandoned in 91 from 92 till 2000 it was a boom town and the livestick trade was bringing in $200 minimum a year through berbera.
The arta governments economic warfare on Somalilands and the subsequesnt Saudi ban caused it to drop...

in 2002 riyalae and crew were in charge and thier mismanagment ruined berbera..

somaliland had no managment from 2002 till 2010....

look at berbera last year and today..

the change is clearly evident..

it was an administrative problem..

Even if Hargeisa is doing well and growing. It can never reach the same potential as Mogadishu. But neverthenless its great that Somalias second largest city is also developing.

what potential that mogadishu has over hargeysa beside being a capital city of a non-existant country, less on papers and having all somali funds relocated to them? Mogadisho era is been gone for a while now

if you do the math, non native landers being more in hargeysa than landers is just a pure fiction. The math cant add up, unless landers becomes more than the natives in mogadishu

If Hargeisa gets recognition, it will automatically grow much larger than mogadishu. You will see an influx of rural and small-town Somalilanders into Hargeisa and Burco and also koonfurians (the same ones arguing S/L doesn't exist) running to Hargeisa.
