Ruun ahan the Qabiil doesn't matter, if he is a good man, and you have the same religion, language and generally come from the same background, like should be good InshaAllah. So, I'd advise the ladies to choose on grounds that matter, him being from your qabiil shouldn't matter really, unless your parents are very tribalist, in which case I believe you should go with what your parents say, and appease them to that extent. Anything more than that, I wouldn't advise.

Though recently I got really heartbroken with this qabiil stuff, anigo 100% for it aha marrying any Somali, and thenI started doubting it. But now, I'm trying to forget it, and besides, it is the person not the qabils that is at fault here.

When I say they are wife beaters, I'm talking BLACK and BLUE, I'm talking the whole neighbourhood can hear your screams, I'm talking broken bones, and god forbid that you should die at their hands, because he'd bury straight away and your family might not even know, and even if they did he'd properly just pay 'blood money' though in this case you are his wife, so I don't even know if thats a must. In conclusion, pretty bad.

How common is this? When you say family do you mean close family?
