Belew, i suppose you chose not to respond since I said you seem to me like a Tigrinya speaker. Trust me, as easily as US African command knows Somali clans for what, I know Eritreans. In fact my nacaa basmacii brotha, I have pretended to be an Americanized Eritrean brother with success on many of your festivities and independence day celebrations. When in Eritrea, I am a bonafide Tigre brother.

Soomalidiinaan Tigre is different from Tigray of Ethiopia.

correct me if im wrong but dont the beja and saho make up a significant part of the tigrinya speaking peoples racial mixture as well as the tigre?

and the agew make up the main racial stock of the Tigray and Amhara?

maybe this is the root difference ?

Gurey, u r theoretizing to the extreme!
Belew, formalized pretty much wat I was sensing: these r no ethnicities, only bantus racing towards arabism to enhance their status!
Wallahi some bantus can fall very low

B.
Putting aside my pet theory on Bantuism, I am devising a new brand genealogy for the entire Horn
In this genealogy the tribe everyone claims to be close will be a Waaq blessed ancient tribe, that in a moment of celestial inspiration I knew its name is Khullee :?
if u want your clan to have the best place in this genealogy, please participate in the construction of this theory

Yes, of course ---How good is your Arabic?

If we go back in time, like say 4,000 years ago, then yes, the ancestors of Tigre, Biher-Tigrinya, Saho, some Afars and of course Hidareb are the forerunners of the Beja people. In fact, we have archeological evidence proving this in Eritrea. Today, all these groups speak two types of Afro-Asiatic languages: Semitic and Cushitic. Many Afars who spoke Afar just 150 years ago speak Tigrinya now. Many Tigrinya who spoke Tigrinya (Semitic) 200 years ago speak Beja (A related Cushitic language, although the verdict is still out on Beja). The differences between a Semitic and a Cushitic speaker is really cosmetics and hardly noticeable. Sure, your geographic area may make your body adapt to your environment, and that's well evident in the horn. For example, those who live in the highlands of Ethiopia are noticeably shorter than say a Somali, who have historically have lived in the lower plains (most anyways). Since the highlands is colder, a stocky body and short limbs help individuals conserve heat while in the hotter Somali lowland plains, the opposite facilitates heat loss.

But to get back on topic, there have been 2 massive Beja migration into Eritrea. The first one was 2,000 BC (4,000 Years ago) and the second one was around 750 AD, when the advancing Bejas defeating the Aksumites within Eritrea and ending the empire for good. The majority of Eritrean ethnic groups are really of Beja ancestry.

While in Ethiopia, the ancestors of most Amharas, Tigrays are agaws and Oromos. The Amhara 600 years ago were really Cushitic speaking Agaws. Then when The Oromos migrated, they assimilated with the recently Asimilated Agaw-Amhara to make this ethnic group we call Amhara.

Even in eastern sudan, which is really an extension of Eritrea, we see Tigrinya and Tigre speaking tribes who now speak Beja. For example, 250 years ago, a Biher-Tigrinya village called the Hallenga migrated to Eastern Sudan and today those Christian Tigrinya speakers speak Beja and are Muslims. Even though within a short period of time they adopted to their envirnment, they nevertheless still hold nostalgic affinities for their ancestry and regularly join the Eritrean military come war time. Most Bejas are capable of speaking Tigre. In fact, Tigre has become the de-facto lingua franca within many parts of Eastern Sudan.

Anyways, here are the Hellenga Beja tribe who live around the Sudanese-Eritrean border ---Litterly, just a little over 200 years ago, these people were Christians and were living in the Eritrean highlands and spoke Tigrinya. This is how fast identity shifts and it's a reminder that ethnicity is something always changing and evolving.

Btw, the singer even fought in Eritrea's independence war, even though he's a Sudanese citizen.

bareento, i suggest you use a different name to bantu..
Bantu is a specific language group originally from the niger congo delta...
I am sure that you and I share 0% with them genetically or linguistically...

We do however share skintone with them, so do melenisian islanders and some south indians..
How would you include south indians and black indigineous indonesian islanders into your bantu theory..

we are both closer to the super black nilotes like the masai and dinka and nuer than bantus..
I suggest you use them.

Yes, Beshareen, and another Beja clan call Egypt home. There are even a large minority of Beja Othrodox Christians in Egypt.

Badawi is their ethnic name and language. To-Badawi translates to Beja language.

Bejas have a very war like mentality. The Hadandawa clan is the largest Beja clan that's been at war with virtually all Beja clans. One thing I love about Beja culture, is their amazing hospitality. It's in the fabric nature of all Bejas to take a stranger in, feed him, clothe him, and after he or she is fed, they finally ask that person on how they can help him. But be warned, if you enter a Beja man's house without asking, the man of that house is required by Beja customs to challenge you to a sword fight, as well as provide you with a sword to fight him in a fair battle. As far as I'm concerned, the Bejas are second to none in terms of their skills with swords or as they call it, "Sefs".

That's just nuts.

The closest ethnic group to Somalis are the Oromos who live on the Eastern fringes of Ethiopia and the Afar people.
Most Eritreans are not purely Cushitic racially, most of them have significant Nilotic and Arabian admixture.
