I know some of the smart people have been busy buying properties left and right since the last two years when the prices dropped sharply because of the war. A certain son of a certain Mudulood politician bought an 80 acre farm in Balcad for 200, 000 USD from a Minneapolis based MJ family. It was a sweet deal because farms of similar size are in the 500,000 USD region. Some people as Murux said are desperate to sell and the money looks attractive. Speculation drives the economy and Somalia ain't driffent. If you compare the current land value in Mogadishu to even last month, you will see a sea change. That's how economics works.

I find the position of the Maajertenn clan very unfortunate. More I read their sentiments the more I think USC ooriginators are laughing at the supposed objectives of the civil war being realized when it comes to that coommunity. Mogadishu is your capital and will be as long as Somalia exists. Even if you never live their guard your interests until the end.
Cilmiile dhiig baa u daatay. Qaan Mareexaan waa qaaxo kuugu maqan. Sade never foogets what his right hand possesses and Somalis made a murti out of it centuries ago.

Gedo will naturally build itself in reemergence of Somali state with complete peace and security through out the south. It is the enttry port of large trade between Somalia-Kenya-Ethiopia and blessed with large natural resources. Teeda kale cid mandaqadaada kugu haysan karto majirto; in this era of ending civil war positions in Mogadishu and Kismaayo must be protected and never compromised.

Your basically telling us to appended Puntland and invest, and neighbor in Muqdisho the same neighbors who have robbed us of our hard earn sweat; who have humiliated our women in front of their love ones before killing her and them; and etc. For someone who seems to be boosting about "Qaan Mareexaan waa qaaxo kuugu maqan" you sure are forgetful of the past rather quickly.
Go ahead encourage your ilk all you like but do please leave us out.

The people who bought properties when everyone was unrealistically pessimistic will be rolling in it soon enough.

The situation in Somalia is unpredictable, but I hope property prices go up now and that we experience peace and development.
