Something like this, a bit larger and right on the beach it probably wouldn't be too outrageous to ask for a mil. 2 mil might be a bit too hopeful though, but u never know

what you take us for? Only a fool would pay 1.5 million usd for a house in a war ravaged city.
someone wanted to buy my dad's property in the KM4 area for $2 million, he flat out rejected. you can make more money keeping your property and collecting rent or turning it into something..
i couldn't believe the shid either, but my dad was in Xamar the last few weeks and just came back and was telling us that he got numerous folks who kept contacting him about the property once word spread that the owner has come back to it and claimed it back with the papers and all that. It sounds crazy, but Twisted_Logic is telling the truth.

seemeyer wrote:That's not a nice colour scheme at all.it would look better all white
can't you not paint with different color if you don't like the one that's already painted on?
anyway, a house without hundredth's of bullet holes on it in Mogadishu is a sign of progress and i hope houses like these will spring up everywhere in Somalia in the near future, insha allah.

These colours make a house look unique and quaint but it only works when the house is a small, quaint bungalow/cottage. You're right, large houses in these colours look weird.
seemeyer wrote:Check out these two house, the yelllow one is more expensive, but becuase of the colour scheme it looses that impact
Whereas the white one which is a lot smaller and cheaper immediately catches your eye. What do you think BV

Roving is right. I have a little shitter in Howlwadaag and the land alone is worth $100,000 as its on the main road. Land in Mogadishu is extremely expensive.
Warya Roving, saxib, whats the situation out in Marinaha ? The Burundian base has changed the security situation in the area. It may attract more cockroaches aka AS>

I actually find the yellowish house very nice, very unique colour for a house.

I keep hearing good things out of Xamar. May it continue to prosper. I can't wait to be there soon, inshallah.
TL - thanks for the update and best regards with your plans. Continue to post more.

I know a few people who have gone out there. Apparently the activity is mad right now. It's akin to 2006 when all the flights were booked up. I suppose people want to take advantage of the lull in fighting.
Inshallah security continues to improve.

Avicenna,
Saxib, based on years past just even 2010, the changes have been amazing. Yet I remain cautious because I don't see the TFG having any capacity to manage the city. Until they replace the two sharifs, get rid of the bloated parliament, I don't see them progressing.
That being said, I am collecting my coin and cashing out by the end 2012

Truth be told, I hope one day Xamar rises from the ashes of civil war. No matter what civil war emotions give some of us, Xamar always was the jewel of Somalia and what made Somalia relevant. I'll find Westerners, Eritreans, Sudanis, etc. who all say they've visited or lived in Xamar pre civil war, but very rarely have they even heard about other Somali towns. Survey the entire Somali diaspora and almost everyone came from Xamar.

On the contraire, I see it as life must go on and people must strive to make their situation better.
I applaud mayor Tarzan's efforts in restoring some sort of normalcy in the city and the countless others bringing about change.
I wonder what if the founders of Mogadishu University never opened it, citing security concerns over a decade ago? Or all those entrepreneurs never returned to open all those companies and businesses?
Xamar has a great opportunity to rise up from ruins, now. TFG or not, it's the people that define the city.
Enjoy your vacation.

Tarsan is a cool guy who means well but has a lot of crooks in his midst. The risk was always there but when you have people willing to kill themselves to kill you, that is a game changer.
