What is a Somali going to do with a political science degree? It's a useless degree and even if you got a job, would you want to work for this kufr government?

It's not exactly poli sci but it's very similar or related. It's not useless as, surprisingly, I'm interested in politics. I think Canada has some merits and some things could definitely be improved, it has a lot of potential to be greater. The federal government here is relatively secular, so I don't think religion is a consideration when it comes to politics in Canada. But I think I would like to work for an international organization although I would enjoy working in the government. The great thing about coming from an immigrant family - you are a blend of different identities and cultures. I'm a Canadian and Somali, so whether I work in Somalia or Canada, both are still a part of me.

What would you want to do in the government?

I never said that Canada is not part of things that are negative and I have objected to these things before. However, I do recognize that it has its merits and can be improved such as avoiding to assist America in its invasions and bombings, not giving money to apartheid and oppressive states, among other things.
@Let's Cook Breakfast
Depends on my prospects. I'm mostly focussing on finishing my degree and improving my French, but once I finish, I'm going to try to improve relevant skills and then think about the government. Until then, it's learning, learning, and more learning for me.

Dr C/rashiid Cali Sharmaarke did a political science degree in Rome, and he became Somalia's 2nd President. Allaha unnaxariisto.
You know what your problem is? You haven't a clue about certain fields and suddenly become an expert about what it entails. Don't dismiss something just because you don't know about it. It is enough ignorance to claim knowledge about something you don't know of.

No degree is meaningless. You put your time and effort into it. Now if you make a statement that the rate of return on certain degrees is not worth the high cost of tuition, well I could buy that.
Never the less, education makes you a well rounded candidate but you also need life skills such as networking, tenacity, street smart etc.

Why are you giving me such an ancient example? An example in Somalia, nonetheless. We're discussing western nations here, particularly the United States. There are barely any American politicians with political science degrees. Most of them went to law school or studied economics.

I think you are genuinely naive. Canada is officially a devout Zionist slave-state. Stephen Harper loves Netanyahu more than AIPAC lobbyists.

Most law schools require a Bachelor's Degree. So a Political Science degree program normally prepares people for the rigors of writing and reading for professional school.
