Heck I don't even think my dad knows that I know my qabiil, everything I know about qabiil was taught here, which isn't much.

My mother taught me my full abtirsi when I was around 9-10, then a few days later I learnt her abtirsi as well.

Re: How were you introduced and educated about tribe?
Hawiye parents never teach their children qabiil. Walaahi this is very true. Some will say "well, that is because Hawiye like the madhibaan are inferior in terms of history so there is nothing to teach and be proud" that could be true with some Hawiye because I have seen one or two pus$ies claiming to be Hawiye here with strong inferiority complex.
Now, one might wonder how do Hawiye folks learn qabiil then? For a starter, Hawiye folks, generally speaking, learn qabiil at a very older age than Isaaq & Daarod. And this usually happens after experiencing some sort of qabiil prejudice against them as was the case with me. When we first arrived in the West, we settled in a city full of Daarods that were shipped straight out Utanga Refugee Camp. We were probably the only family that never went through a harsh life like that and so they were all mad and hateful towards us, but that only made me know who we were. That is how I learnt about my qabiil.
To prove my point I can swear in the name of Allah that the person who initiated this thread is not Hawiye. Not only that but I can go further and swear he or she is either Daarod or Isaaq.

Advo, Stop talking air.
Jam Street, cool story bro. It's because countless Hawiyes are ashamed of who they are.
