The name October should have been changed long time ago but naming the district Sheffield is not the most creative idea in my opinion.
i don't oppose the name Sheffield for the stated reason like waa magac magaalo gaalo and other silly reasons stated but I believe there
are better local names. There are foreign cities that have catchy names and very easy for the Somali tongue to pronounce, Sheffield
is not one of them in my opinion. It would prove hard to be pronounced by the locals and the name would mutate into something
different like Sheefiiil.

historically there have been people who have strayed further from orthodoxy but were still considered muslims,
people were given a lot of leeway.

its not just burao but hargeisa mayor did the same thing in hergeisa just days ago, so we have two sheffeild villages, one in hargeisa and one in burao! . i think its good move because sheffeild is the first and the only place in the world that currently recognize somaliland as indepedent nation.

even if israel recognize somalilan this year or the next we will name some places after her. its just THANK YOU SIGN and attracting more other countries and counties.we will always respect and reward any one who give us hand during our jouney to become fully indepedent nation. i suggest our youth in uk and back home should support SHEFFEILD FOOTBALL TEAM instead of aresenal chelsea etc.
