Jaaale,

SO. u like the French Revolution motto huh? :stylin: Well, good for u darling. I like Class and Superiority hierarchy. It is important to have class distinctions. Even religions tell us that. Both Quran and the Bible speak of it, if not through the endorsement of slavery, it is through the need for leaders and superiority and inferior. (Men being the superior lol) :dj:

Basra, I never knew that you were versed in the realms of religion. I am a novice in religious dogma and doctrine, but, I thought, Islam, at least is all about; Liberté, égalité, fraternité.

I am only a slave to passion.

You, on the other hand, appear to rely on the old primitive order of “ Slave and Master” to quote Hegel which is all about submitting to regency constructs intended to conquer humanity .

P.s, you are a somali afterall  You attempt to find support for your views in religious scripture.
p.s.s; could shed some light on why religions endorse slavery?

Jaaale,

Slavery in religion is not viewed as a negative aspect. Like every thing in the holly books, things are appreciated for what they are and NO MORE. Just like a woman is appreciated for being a woman, a man a man, and so is slavery. Its only Man and his deviation from the truthful scripture does things get complicated. All Science should refer to scriptures. Everything is there for us to explore and decipher.

Slavery is endorsed purely for its recognition of the nature of slavery and also for the purposes of maintaining order. Quran and Bible both acknowledge the existence of poor people. (therefore inferior) It is encouraged to help the poor. Slavery exists or is endorsed because it serves a purpose: The master. God has endowed all his creation with different powers. Some serve and some get serv. ed

The appearance of "bilaal" in Quran is no coincidence. His race, as that of negroid origin is clearly shown as an inferior and a slave. Yet God gave him the beautiful melodic voice to call muadhin and also sing and entertain his masters.

Your Highness, I am a not a religious scholar, but, if I were to argue for the motion, I would have questioned the definition of "slavery ".

I don’t want to navigate the murky waters of religion because my repertoire is limited. Rationality – at least the unbounded one- shows the fallacy of religious arguments; not necessarily of the scripture itself, but its interpretation by humans who are perhaps keen to keep the status quo.

Are you claiming that racism (in the case of Bilal, who you mentioned was inferior) and class hierarchies are sanctioned by the Quran?

Are the gates of hell and the gardens of heaven open to the lower strata/upper echelons of society respectively?

Jaaale,

LOL your delicate dance in terms of talking religion talk is comical and amusing. I can just imagine u dread the legions of Mustafas aka al shabaabs, bombarding you with vitriol diatribe, left and right, before you could find yourself drop and faint. :stylin:

You throw modern words for ancient times like during Bilaal days. Slavery and Racism has negative connotations.

"the gates of hell and the gardens of heaven " is open to ALL. It is stated the day of judgement ALL would be the same. NO class necessary then. ALl will match in nakedness to your Maker.

It seems like class and distrinction of race is only important here on earth. It is vital or necessary. Maybe, it is also necessary in in Heaven too, but I am not so positive. Although, the story "The Fallen Angel" ibliis was once a chief ANGEL. We all know he refused to bow down to Man,(Adam), and therefore the drama of Adam and Eve began. You see-- the fact that God created Adam with clay and IBlis with fire, and then command ibliss to bow down--therefore making adam his superior and Iblis refusing, tells you something right? That hierarchy is important to God  .

Is Her Highness dithering and withering! What I can deduce from your reply above is that you have trodden a dangerous path; like a lioness who was hunting a prey only to find that the prey had laid a trap :stylin:

Al-sheydhaan will definitely butcher both of us for debating religious metaphysics; they will find you guilty of using biblical writings (you unwittingly cited GENESIS when you described Iblis, Adam above) and me for using Marx as my screen name.

I would argue that slavery and other “modern” hideous things that defy our minds is the result of innate believing; i.e. the doctrine of innate ideas.

:o Jaaale

U r indeed ignorant of Quran, aren't you! ALL I have told u is right from Quran, taught in my Madras. As a child I loved Quran parable tales. But I do understand that most of the parable in both the bible and the Quran are similar.

Slavery is not a bad thing if not taken out of context. Just like the difference in Men and Womens superiority is obvious to us-- mostly physical attribute-- the same is with blacks. On earth we are all served with a position in life. We have to admit to maintain order or strive to change it for the better, but sometimes I feel If u try to change it, u r only fighting with fate. :stylin:

I am not as ignorant as people think I am. I am surprised that a woman of your calibre claims that slavery is not a bad thing. I see that you are using relativism to make a point but that is wrong. It is one of the worst episodes of human evolution. It degrades people; under no context should it be allowed. It is abhorrent and cannot be equated with differences in gender, colour and creed.

You might have read the Quran and you might also attended Madrasa but, your assertion was out of the book of Genesis. True, there are some similarities but there are also profound differences.

According to my limited knowledge of Islam, it is a religion that is based on "a classless society; a social democractic society which advocates, Liberty, Equality, Fraternity"

Allow me to marinate on that statement for a few seconds.

Slavery is a bad thing if abused or misinterpreted. But, yes- it is not a bad thing. It brings order and harmony to any society. My argument is--if you Mankind will not embrace slavery with compassion, then abandon the institution completely. But the institution of slavery if properly used and accelerated, it is the best kindness to those inferior in all faculties important.

:o I think u have a misunderstanding of Islam. Perhaps, you are talking about the French Revolution. :dj: Islam is about submission to one God and his prophet SAW. It is as simple as that. ALlaah swt is our superior, submit and worship our maker. What u r talking about is French revolution and society issue. U probably have John Locke or Jacque Rousseau or Voltaire darling in mind. :stylin:

Basra,

:damn: your defence of slavery. Submission does not negate human liberty, fraternity and equality. In fact, only humans that are free from submission to none other than Allah, that show brotherhood/sisterhood to other beings and are equal in front of Allah are the only ones who can submit to HIM.

Anyway, I do hope that the two of us meet in heaven. Speaking of Voltaire, I think we was the one who said that people will create religion/God if there was none.

P.s. Read the Quran on Adam and Hawa; read also the bible (Genesis) and you will realise that your previous assertion is from Genesis.
