But there are also many well-to-do and educated youth who join or try to join the Islamic State. It isn't only about the disenfranchised youth.

This. Even with your parents they could still target you. Last time i traveled they tried it with me but luckily it was just at the passport desk instead of the let me talk to you over there for a sec Image. Tho i had nothing to hide my heart nearly came out of the left chestImage

Kukri, my clan is my only connection to Somalia. That's how primarily expressed my "Somalinimo" through my clan. My sense of connection to Somalia is so superficial I would be the biggest foreigner there. Just took me a while to connect the dots.

Bermooda, I remember flying back from southern Africa on a study abroad trip couple years ago and when we left the Amsterdam airport, I told two of my lclassmates traveling "watch, I bet when we get to US soil I will be pulled out." The girl seemed concerned, but My friend Jeff was like "dude relax, you're being paranoid. "

Lol when we got to US soil to transfar there were two men waiting asked me my name and told me to follow LOL. I had absolutely no reason to be worried, but they took me to a room, had my entire file out, knew eeverything about me...asking me what's your parent's names, then birthdays, etc etc and finally asked me if I "went to Somalia." I laughed because it was ridiculous, they probably already had my itinerary and why I was in South Africa not to mention puled me from my classmates. 45 minutes I was running to catch my plane

Shit was surreal for any Somali millineal traveling couple years ago because of the Shabaab kids, this ISIS crap is bringing it all back

Wow brothers. Just wow. Are you seriously attacking 16 & 17 yr olds, fresh off their GCSE and AS courses (freshmen & sophomores in US highschool speak), kids basically, still capable of being molded and influenced towards the right path? & how exactly do you know they'll be used as fodder in "ceeb jihaad"?

Somali men iyagaa ceebtooda is og. Hence for those brothers that consistently and without fail bash our sisters into oblivion, ilaahaaga ka bari in uu ku asturo maalinta youmal qiyaama. It's Ramadaan, waanan idin dhowrayaa oo idin qiimeenayaa, you're my brothers afterall, wa raxmatu Rabbii wasicat kulla shay', but honestly I would love to know what depraved sins you commit such that you passionately project your filthy language & expectations onto your sisters. Ilaahay ha na asturo gidigeen, hablahaasna tubta toosan ilaahay ha usoohadeeyo, aamiin.

They can be well off and well educated, but if a young Muslim has difficulty integrating and socializing with mainstream society, they are vulnerable to radicalization
