This does not mean you voluntarily left because of a cultivated higher than most attitude - you are not better, and you will be no better hoping to the world that you are not Somali. You and your family faced imminent death, as many of us DO have relatives who were killed. The only difference is Allah gave us a way out.

Why take that blessed opportunity and turn it against your people? You are no better, only that you were educated and shown a better life - which we should all be bringing back here! Al shawack is only so strong I feel because there are no intelligent people here that can outnumber them. When conflict takes over, the able minded/bodied run, and they have free-run over the misakeen.

Zubeir, yes walaal. Not only on a personal course to find financial freedom, but to live in a place where we can eventually be even more proud of.

I am specifically referring to those who say they do not have anything about being Somali to be proud of, who don't associate with Somalis, and downright wish they were never born of our people. Why would I say Somalis in general hate themselves? It may look that way, when you look at behaviours and some of the exaggerated characters on this site, and alkabob, but that's not what I said.

Inferiority complexes are far more common, but would you not attribute that to self-hate? Why do they feel their beautiful brown Somali skin is not worthy? Why do men perpetuate this and quickly marry a lighter sister than her dark counterparts? Somali men may hide it better by 'hanging out' with their own people, but the mere fact that they don't know what hard work and dedication means, what it means to make something mighty of yourself already speaks volumes. You can't love yourself and have that pride if you are sabotaging yourself, and eventually your wife and children. Again, I am generalizing. There ARE hardworking men, there ARE proud intelligent Somalis - this thread obviously has nothing to do with them.
