Why wouldn't you marry Midgan? Is it a personal preference or is it due to pressure from family/relatives?

I think it's more to do with fear of the mentally ill person coming back even worse. For example I knew one man who was on mental illness drugs. The drugs they used to give him made him walk all weird. For example his arms never used to more when he walked. His speech was slured and he would answer you back quite awhile after you answered him. I am not convinced the drugs they give are helpful. It only just calms them down.

What I always wonder though is supposed a muslim person is has jinn inside him, obviously the jinn makes them behave like they crazy person. Now with quran saar the person would come back to normal. LOL war jiniga maxu nagu arkay? but to answer your question no. However I don't believe the numbers are correct. 1 in 3 means we would have felt it and it would be more personal. I know another man, although his situation has improved his wife is fed up with him sometimes and reerka have to send him to Somalia every now and then. I think they do more damage than good.

I think in qof lo dhiso is actually good. Alot of these mentally ill men they end up marrying their cousin. Why should he not have a chance at having children just because he is mentally sick. There is nothing wrong with Midgaan. They are the victim of propaganda and misconception. Their values are more highly and more civil than the Hawiye who only know cheat, scam, niiko, darbi aroos, drag the dead, killing just to get ahead. The problem with marrying off someone who is suffering from a mental illness to someone is the notion that marriage will help "fix" them. My concern is the consensus of marrying them off while concealing the fact that he's not all there and hoping for the best.

Marrying a man with mental illness off = dooming some poor girl to take care of him for the rest of his life

it's just shifting responsibilities off to a another person.
