Somalis have been praying in taraweehs and jumcas for freaking years and years, but yet not an ounce of improvement in our conditions. Does god hate us? Why he no accept our duas?

Even if most Danes are philosophical atheist, this does not take away from the fact that their system, identity and society is deeply rooted in Christianity.

That is the beauty of it tho. At the end of the day, I can afford to be wrong(if we go ahead and say there is no God), and face no hell or grave punishment when I die. Somalis are prevented from becoming atheists by the realities of our people's culture. We are without an intellectual life. Until 1972 we were illiterates. Eighty percent of Somalis still remain illiterate. The written word is the most powerful way to spread ideas and to disseminate knowledge and the overwhelming majority of Somalis are unable to decipher it. Therefore it is no surprise why Somalis are such a superstitious people. The superstitious members of this forum however are not illiterate and many of them are university graduates. Why then are they still ardent believers in supernatural powers and other irrational beliefs? I suspect it is because they are only a generation removed from the poverty and ignorance of the motherland. Rarely do children, except the most precocious and independent-minded, stray from the beliefs of their parents and the norms of their culture. To be an atheist and a Somali is deviance and a grave rebellion against the culture's most scared beliefs. Those who become atheists show a willingness to think for themselves and become socially isolated rather than enjoy the comfort of following the herd. These traits of atheists (critical thought, independence) are rare in humans and also contribute to the low level of Somali atheists.

Also, stop spreading misinformation. Einstein did not believe in God. He wrote in his autobiography that he stopped believing in God and the bible when he was twelve years old.
