What somali words annoy you?

The use of aboowe and abaayo bothers me.

Haye aboowe macaaney.

Tuushi: First of all macaaney does not go with aboowe aaite. Macaney would go with abaayo is it used for girls. Jeez look what you made me do. You've just made use the few words that I despised the most. : meles: I am coming to your house for gogol dhig.

I hate how they can't pronounce the letter R. They say Gabdh instead of Gabar. f-king qaldaans! They must have a sore enlarged tongue from the excess khat consumption. I also hate how they bastardise English words, they say 'Komiinshka' instead of using the proper Somali word 'Gudiga'.

One word that annoys me a lot is 'calaami' that word is just over used I think. Just annoys me, such hotel calaami ah! or airport caalami ah! Can't they just say Hotel casri ah?

I find the xamari accent annoying tbh...

lol that makes two of us!!! That word i've only heard it 2 yrs ago from a family i was helping, everytime they said to me huuno i felt insulted/degraded coz in my mind huuno is what women call each other

You are talking about rear xamar cad cad and bantus. They usually say 'quways' , 'gawoow' as in 'gaboob' and many other words.

I think it's reer xamar (as in people born and living in xamar) I have cousins who speak like this and if I'm being honest I do sometimes as well

I do it too tbh. I say quways, qawoow, nawad, awukar for my brother, cawudwaaq, etc.

I never lived in the same town/region in a single decade when I was young back home and don't have a specific accent so I tend to switch from one accent to another depending on who I am talking to, though I am not good at one particular one 100 %.

Just yesterday while I was in my meal-break at work & took a short visit to the restroom a friend of mine called and I answered the call (he's kinda religious and starts with the Salams etc) so that I don't have to get into chit chat in the toilet I started with "Suuligan ku jidhaa ee anigaa ku soo wici doona goor dhow" and went like to myself because he's reer Xamar and I don't know why I felt speaking like that.
