Never listen to the good words about him coming from his friends instead listen to what his enemies has to say and you will know the truth

Not 3 months of no dating (only ever been on 1 date so it's a lot longer), it's the last 3 months before I am ready to. I dislike malayacni dating that is to build a man's confidence as a "lady's man" and I am not sure what the female gets from it.But in 3 months I can honestly say I am ready to get married in the next couple of years following and dating has a purpose :blessed:

Never date for the sake of it ... Do with someone that makes you feel 'me very hungry ... I'm going to jump your bones'

 wax waalan

I don't believe in "meeting the right guy", you get to know someone and realise that they are the right person. What I'm saying is that I am not open to that so I wouldn't invest any time until these 3 months are up. Same way I've managed to stay single all these years, it's a skill to stay alone :tocry:

Even if I were to set aside any qualms about dating, I wouldn't know what to say/do in a 'dating' situation :|

Definitely not. In fact I tend to push those away. A couple of times when some very handsome brothers expressed interest, I said macasalaama.
Nothing wrong with them per se (or I wouldn't know, I didn't really allow enough time to explore) but it kind of makes me feel uncomfortable, like it's not safe to be yourself and have a normal conversation with that person, you know?

lol, Hopefully you wouldn't be with someone who inspired lust alone, although those butterflies are damn fun. ;)

Yummy, I know what you mean. Silken voices, devilishly good looks, bearded grins.....they can persuade one to forget certain misgivings you would have otherwise respected lol

Inaadeer there's a very good reason for this. Everyone looks for certain important characteristics in someone. For me, that is 4: diin/salaat, akhlaaq/generous personality, good reputation/family background, and financially stable... none of those are derivatives of good looks. I'm not saying it's mutually exclusive; it's just bloody rare. Hence I fear someone like that might make you compromise on those important characteristics, so yes, I would discriminate.

 unfortunately I don't have those kind of (Somali) men making regular appearances in my day to day life. That said after these 3 months if I meet a Somali guy who was like that are you kidding me, he would move to the front of the line. That said, generally speaking when such people open their mouths you realise God gives in a balanced way if you know what I mean :(

But you should give people the benefit of the doubt, who knows what an amazing person you could be walking away from
