Secondly, you have to make a distinction between the killings orchestrated by a tribal militia in a civil war, and the systematic targeting of Isaaqs by the government. I'm not condoning what happened to your relatives, but the fact that the government used the national treasury and the aid provided by the United States to settle scores with a tribe is despicable to say the least.

Again, the point of this court chase is to hold Samatar accountable for his actions. Somalia has made it clear that they support war criminals from Kacaan era, and since Samatar resides in the United States it only makes sense to try him there. These plaintiffs directly suffered under Samatar's rule, either by being tortured themselves or losing their family members via execution.

The argument of how Somalis are today holds no water. Don't want to derail this thread into a clan pissing contest but keep in mind that you're in the Somaliland section, so the description of the animalistic behaviour of Somalis doesn't really apply here. Somaliland may have its shortcomings, but Alhamdulilah Reer SL has established peace, and the life of a Somalilander is much better now than before. I believe the reason why Somalia is in a hopeless state and that Somalis will continue to be bitterly divided is because of individuals like yourself, who continue to defend war criminals of the past and continue to put them on pedestals as if they're some sort of heroes. Good luck trying to reach some sort of reconciliation because I surely doubt that will happen if people like yourself continue to have such a poisonous mentality

p.s. Nobody was innocent in Somalia. Even your so-called SNM mujaahids were war criminals. If you think General Samatar deserves to put into court then so should Siilaanyo. However the best ever option is to forgive and let Allah hold them accountable.

You tell say that we should forgive the likes of Ali Samatar for their wrongdoings, but how can forgiveness be offered if war criminals such as himself refuse to acknowledge any wrongdoing, let alone apologize for their actions?
