Allah says in the Quran:
"The repentance accepted by Allah is only for those who do wrong in ignorance [or carelessness] and then repent soon after. It is those to whom Allah will turn in forgiveness, and Allah is ever Knowing and Wise. But repentance is not [accepted] of those who [continue to] do evil deeds up until, when death comes to one of them, he says, "Indeed, I have repented now," or of those who die while they are disbelievers. For them We have prepared a painful punishment." (Surah Nisa, 17-18)
You tell say that we should forgive the likes of Ali Samatar for their wrongdoings, but how can forgiveness be offered if war criminals such as himself refuse to acknowledge any wrongdoing, let alone apologize for their actions?
As for the SNM, unless you can provide concrete proof as we have with your officials, you cannot call them war criminals. Once your uncle's regime collapsed, it was the SNM leadership who restrained their soldiers and did not allow them to go apeshit on Darood as what the USC did in the South
