Re: Bixi "no talks without mediation"
History already justifies Somaliland's sovereignty and there's no one that can challenge that. My question to you was, how do you justify Somalia's claims?
Btw, international recognition for us is just the icing on the cake. It would simply end a mistake that's been haunting us for 54 years. Other than access to the UN and international loans (which I oppose) there's nothing else recognition offers Somaliland.

perfect xildiiin wa Majnun he by far the dumbest person in snet.Perfect_Order wrote:I think you misunderstand the situation. SL is the one that is day in and day out trying to justify it's sovereignty by trying to get recognized. Somalia is not trying to justify any claims because no international body or country denies it. This is why Somalia sees this as a domestic issue, not an international one. Of course SL disputes this, but they have no leg to stand on, hence why they are in this current situation.
He properly read old threads of khalid ali and thinks there is a historical basis for that claim.
lets ask xildiid weather he has empirical evidence because the legal burden of proof is upon him
wallahi he will not present any evidence but he will be talking out of his ass and run around the bush using unsubstantiated semantics like "Act of union between somalia and somaliland"
Perfect remember my analysis of isaaq people and their mythic mind, look no further then xildiid
Jung's focus on thinking styles comes from his essay "Two Kinds of Thinking"
and was influenced by William James' distinctions of directed and
non-directed thinking; non-directed aka mythic thinkingis associated with
'fantasy' thinking

Re: Bixi "no talks without mediation"
If you mean justify themselves to SL to get them to come back, I would say wait it out, SL citizens will come back eventually. If recognition is refused to you, and the country doesn't move forward in economics and development mainly due to the factors, people will rather give up SL for prosperity.Xildiiid wrote:History already justifies Somaliland's sovereignty and there's no one that can challenge that. Typhoon, xildiid is broken record, he keeps repeating the same thing, but it only means something to him, I have yet to understand how he can claim there was no union.

Typhoon,
Actually the burden of proof is on you since you claim Somaliland never attained statehood despite Somaliland receiving its independence from the United Kingdom by royal proclamation of the Queen, the newly independent state of Somaliland fulfilled the legal criteria for statehood and it was recognized by the UN in accordance with its decolonization policy.
Secondly you claimed something about Somali territorial integration (whatever that's supposed to be) while overlooking the fact that the legal formalities of the union was not completed so wether you call it integration or union, it's null and void in judicial sense.

Perfect Order,
There was no union and for arguments sake if there was a union, Somalia has no right to represent the Somali republic or claim Somaliland because Somalia was a constituent state and the republic was allegedly made up by two equal constituent states i.e Somalia and Somaliland.
Which leads me back to my earlier question, how do you justify Somalia's claims and it seems like you're unable to answer that question.

your whole logic is based on red herring, I have no time to explain to you the difference between Protected territory, independent territory and Sovereign state.
1) was somaliland a UN member state?
2) did somaliland have their own currency?
3) did somaliland have postal service?
4) was somaliland member of any international organisation?
5) what was the newly independent somaliland regions flag and what was somalilands International organization for Standardization number
wallahi you are one ignorant person who even lacks basic grasp of dialectical argumentation.
gabar ma tahay horta? because I sense allot of emotional reasoning

xildiid somaliland doesn`t even have the same legal standing as ethiopias somali state because that state recognized state, albeit part of Ethiopia, you are somali territory below puntland and jubaland they have recognition of the somali government, did ama ha didin aski legal experts
somalia doen`t have to justify shit, that is the privilege that a UN member state has.
Our sovereignty is non-negotiable and universal acknowledged and recognized by all the legal institutions and sovereign states of the world and you and your claim only exist in the internet.

Typhoon,
Not one of the 5 points you brought up have a connection to State sovereignty. So the burden of proof is still on you since you claim Somaliland did not become a sovereign state on June 26, 1960 despite being recognized by a permanent member of the Security council, the UN and fulfilling the legal criteria of a state i.e the conditions set in the Montevideo convention.

Do you mean we were not allowed to set up or apply all the 5 above things after 26 june 1960 independence? if we had our own postal service, currency, passport flag and every thing else, what makes you think we could not have any after our own independence day. Remember we had 5 days before we have to complete all of it on our own.
3 rupee with somaliland map and name on it !

and this is the the last postal stamp weliba sheikh isaaq tomb kiisu ka dhex muuqdo, .

Darood af xumada waa lagu yaqaana laakin I won't go down that road because your aim is to discredit by turning the whole discussion into a fadhi ku dirir session.
Perfect Order, since you claim there was a union between Somaliland and Somalia why don't you prove it and since you're at it why not answer some of my previous questions.

the 5 points are the legal illustration of states sovereignty in the Westphalia nation state system.
somaliland never became a sovereign state, it became independent territory
states recognized your independence from british empire not your sovereign claim nor were you permitted into the United nation (claiming sovereignty without being a member of the UN is like walking on water)
when the British signed somaliland independence, they were already in talks with southern somalis on how to precede, thats why the blue flag designed by a southern somali wiil majerteen ah cawale libaan(calanka cawale) in jigjiga was the first independent flag of somaliland, you only knew british empire and somali republic, there was only a 5 day independent territory awaiting somali reunification.
you did not even have embassies nor any bilateral relations, what kind of fantasy sovereign state are you talking about.
Montevideo Convention did not apply to somaliland in the sense of sovereignty you were 5 days independent awaiting reunification with the newly sovereign UN member state of somali republic
somaliland was never a state it was protected territory
let me explain,
Egypt under the British was a protected state, you were protected territory who never transitioned to independent sovereign statehood.
there is a reason why south somalia became your rulers because south went from a trusteeship to a sovereign state, you went from British protectorate to somali region (your independence was not sighned by somalialand executive leaders it was signed by tribal representatives of; isaaq, warsangeli, dhulbahante, ogaden and guudibirsi
do you guys even have a islamic legal tradition because it seems you lot don`t understand what legality means.
wallahi entire isaaqs experience seems to be total ignorance about legal procedures and Jurisprudence, thats why we southerns can sit back and know fully well that you are going no were.
