Most people on earth did not have empires, does that mean that they are inherently inferior to the British? Are the Mongolians superior to the Norwegians who didn't have an empire? The western Europeans were a bunch of backwards barbarians for most of their history. Europe was mired in civil wars and religious wars for centuries which created an arms race. They eventually became the most well-armed group of people on earth which meant that they could easily subdue other nations. These are the hard facts. Most empires were built by brutal force and barbarism and not intellectual or cultural superiority. Westerners wouldn't be where they are today if it wasn't for slavery, the genocide of hundreds of millions of people and the destruction of the ecosystem which is supposed to sustain our very existence as a species. The Europeans appropriated certain aspects of the cultures that they conquered and benefited from scientific advancements that were made by Muslims, Chinese, Indians etc.. Science is cumulative and nobody has a monopoly on it.

Somalis were mostly merchants, nomads, or fishermen. We didn't have imperialistic aspirations and were content with living our way of life and freely moving about in this vast territory that we conquered. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Yeah you're right. Colonialism didn't happen and the West currently has no interest in our lands. There are no foreign troops or military bases in and around Somalia. Somalia has no strategic value whatsoever...
