Hi Xildiid-
People with facts, sources, and bibliographies do not debate based on WAA LA II SHEEGAY.
Consider yourself educated in this matter, because when I was told Shire Jaamac Axmed JUGE wrote our script, I actually researched him.
Lo amd behold, what did I find? Book on Somali poetry written by BB Andrejewski and Muuse Galaal that says they are using the script devised by Shire Jama.
Also found the 1961 Somali language report that recommends Shire Jama's script.
Also found the 1966 UNESCO document saying Somalia should choose Shire Jama.
Also found the 1972 report officially giving credit to Shire Jama.
Also found people like Martin Orwin and the American Prof Mohamed Haji Mukhtar (Digil and Mirifle and the father of the current deputy governor of Mogadishu Subayda Mukhtar) detailing this history.
What do you have?
Absolutely nothing.
It's obvious that you're blinded by "sources" that support your narrative but if you look at the Unesco report and the orthography presented then surely you cannot make the claim that the modern Somali script was created by Shire.
We can also look at scripts created by other Somali scholars before Shire even devised his own script to point out that:
• The long/short vowel system already existed and it was created by Galaal in 1959.
• None of these letters (dh, sh, kh, c, x,) was created by Shire.
Now, if Shire didn't create any of these basic elements that together make up the modern Somali script, is it logical to call him the father of the Somali script?

The fact of the matter is that Muse X. I. Galaal is the greatest Somali scholar of linguistics, his contributions to the Somali language including its orthography and the field of Somali studies is unparalleled by any other Somali.
Xildiid, this Boon has nothing but random assortment of statements he is trying hard to weave a narrative out of, the fact that he is actually attempting to attribute the "invention" of the Somali script to a minor character tells you everything you need to know.

One could argue someone is among the greatest; there's no such thing as the "greatest" or "unparalleled." You've here a logical fallacy.

One volunteer faqash should be embarrassed on behalf of this dead weight voltage. He has been schooled over and over again, yet the dead corps begins his rebuttal with " so an so recommended Shire's script " ok, put the point is zombie that no one implemented these recommendations.
If no daarood volunteers to be embarrassed on his behalf. Lets all Somalis for the sake of decency observe a 1 minute silence for the obituary of faqashim.

The grammar, particularly the second paragraph, could be better. What are you trying to say?

Despite the sheer frustration and desperation portrayed by iidoor somnet heavyweights such as Ben Dover and Xildiid this thread is full of knowledge.
Shire---One the founding fathers of the Latinized Somali script and perhaps the most outstanding. But he didn't contributed 'everything'
Galaal---Is in the same league with Shire .Therefore both men deserve credit for the priceless job they did for the Somali people
Xildiid has some interesting arguments to counter The Voltage's claims that Shire is the father of Somali Script for instance Shire didn't invented letters dh,sh etc
PS Xildiid and Ben are bad mad iidoor fanatics

.Voltage is a Merahan Supremacist

.l think that is why he's constantly stalked by this shameless ictiraaf seeking iidoor trolls over and over again.

Doqonkii Ogaden
Shire was a follower of Galaal.
There is a reason why everyone knows of Muse Xaaji Ismaacil Galaal yet barely anyone has heard of Shire.
As the previous thread where Xildiid and Xplaya tore the Boons a new one (so much so they asked for it to be deleted!) and this current one show, Muse X. I. Galaal is indeed the greatest Somali scholar of linguistics, his contributions to the field of Somali Studies and the orthography is undeniable. This Shire character being peddled on here is only getting the push from the resident Boons propaganda mouthpiece, for the sole reason of him being one of their Bon Marehan kin.
So far:
- They claimed Xiraabu Gutia Tidorous was a hero.
Turns out he was a double-dealing, swindling johnny-come-lately of Futuh, that the Imam cursed and chased into Hawiye country for killing a boy.
- They claimed the name Xiraabu Gutia Tidoros is an authentic Somali name.
- They claimed their Bon Marehan clan were very prominent in the war
Turns out they were described as "wavering". They were also archers, which confirms their roots as Boons (boons and midgans hunt with bow and arrow).
- They claimed Siad Barre spoke better English than other Somali politicians.
- They claimed some ignoble Bon named Shire to have "invented" the Somali script.
Completely destroyed by Xplaya and Xildiid.
- As a bonus, we have all learnt about their history as Boons. They actually "correspond to the Midgan of Northern Somaliland", they also are considered to be "servile" and they "eat dead meat"! This is all documented, and observed by unbiased non-Somalis.
All in all this has backfired beautifully, the Boon wanted to xayasiis his fellow Boon, but ended up causing his people a great deal of unnecessary embarrassment.
