Cilmiile, having said that I could not resist the urge to write on it. Last night, I had a conversation with my father whom I rarely discuss with clan wars and its history, but this one you noted above , had such an impact on the Somali history. In 1848, rival bands of Majerten army raided several settlements of Garad Cabdalle (Warsangeli) in Sanaag and looted an extensive animal wealth of more than 1200 thorough-bred Arabian Horses known in Somalia "Sunari". An envoy of 24 Garad Cabdalle men was sent to the Majeerten sultan for the redemption of these horses through diplomatic means. Among the men were great warriors, poets, and experts in the field of conflict-resolution. They were Ahmed BahalAfdheer (He was a poet and an author of more than 150 well-known sayings. Dahir Af Qarshe, a Dhulbahante based in Las Anod and historian has kept his sayings and he once aired on Radio Mogadisho in the 80s), the great warrior Afdhaal, Saalax Biin, Baxwal Maxamoud Cali, and Cabdi FaadhFaadh whose long poem is now available at http://www.golkhatumo.com/Bal.htm . Those men, BahalAfdheer and Afdhaal were Bahugeyslabe sub-sections of Garad Cabdale, Saalax Bin was of Bihidoor, and Baxwal and Cabdi Faadhfaadh were of Reer Garad and Rer Fatah respectively. Ahmed Bahalafhder first addressed the Majerten Sultan together with the elders. He was orally recorded to have said,
