[quote="kambuli"]Ashlee,
You guys assume that it is a shame to know your culture and your people..You are all afraid to have the stigma of being old if you say we can speak Somali or we know Somali culture or Somali figure...
But ironically you think that someone is educated and have a class if they can talk about the French Revolution, Roman Empire or people like Alexander The Great or even the writer Charles Dickens etc...
How can you think that knowing a history of the 16th century makes one young and educated while to know someone who is still alive makes someone old?
Isku xishooda oo ku faana dadkiina iyo culture-kiina...
Do not get me wrong... It is just a sisterly advise..

War gabadha yaa ka xanaajiyey. We are oral people, that is why. Admit it Kumbuli you are old women. I can't figure one single man in those pictures.

...The officer in the background smiling sure is the late self-crowned president
Anyhow, speaking of historic pictures here some more:
President Sharmarke (our last truly elected president) and JFK

The 60's

lol@ "The officer in the background smiling sure is the late self-crowned president"
What were Mj's thinking when they gave him the top post of the Military, he sure was better of as body guard or as the link said "askari ilaalo"

MJS DIDNT GIVE HIM THE POST FOOL. HE WAS THE CHIEF OF THE SOMALI ARMY AND NOT A BODYGUARD. HE WAS SMILING CAUSE HE KNEW THAT HE WILL DROP THEIR ASS AND RULE SOMALIA FOR A LONG TIME.

You could say whatever you want about SNM, but one thing you can't deny is SNM Mujahideens achieved their objective of liberating Somaliland...the same you can't say about Sayed Barres failed war with the Habeshees and later with the SNM.
