In my experience, I have helped find a wife for my nephew and a husband for my habaryar by tapping into the network of friends and associates.

I am one who is not shy enough to ask a good friend or relative about their guur prospects: what they want, are they available and to hook them up.

My rational is better a Farax or Xalimo, I know than one i don't.

Indians are over-ambitious people, they give the people a run for their money. I doubt we will ever evolve to their level, nevertheless, we do need some kind of a networking to bring together our disfranchised community.

Everyone thinks the grass is always greener on the other side, but I am sure other communities have a bigger mess on their hands...

This problem is widespread among all the Somali families...The dilema is :

Before men used to be better educated than women. Men were OK to marry a less educated girl..Ph.D holders even married girls that have never been to school.

Unfortunately now days, girls are more educated than men..Or atleast I should say, girls tend to attend and seek higher education more than the boys...Therefore the gap is reversed now... But unlike the guys, girls don't want to marry a guy who is less educated than them ... That is the problem...
Also, guys get very uncomfortable when they marry a girl who has more education than them...This does not help either.

There is also another factor that was always there: Bad girls always catch the best guys...Because they tend to meet more men then the self respecting, shy girl...

At the end of the day the destiny (Calaf) is what rules..

About your neices...Good men are not necessarily the ones in the Masjid..Believe me there are all sorts of men in the mosque...Don't trust a guy simply because he goes to mosque...Always someone other the family is the best person to recommend a good girl...Let the family friends do the job..
