No Hoowle, you are the typical fraud. First of all let us put this into context because I have seen this argument before.
1. This illustration is from the august 1999 version of Time magazine and was illustrated by Douglas Theobald. MOST of them are fossils found that are filled in for the missing holes and the "blue" color signify the ones that could be least accurate.
2. Almost all of them are not even in our line of ancestry but "cousins". Since they cannot proof we are from them, they don't want to risk of looking like frauds by saying we are without any evidence so they use the "relative" word. (KEEP IN MIND THIS IS STILL IN OUR OWN LINE SEPARATE FROM APES/CHIMPS.
3. Most of important of all NONE are between Human line and Apes/Chimps. There is not ONE evidence that humans and apes were at any point joined.

why are religious folk scared of people learning more about the world and our place in it?

You want concrete evidence well then DNA is your answer. The fact that every living creature on planet earth shares the same blueprint in its design points toward a common origin. Add onto the fact that the fossil record shows us the appearance of new species at certain periods of time and the disappearance of others at other points in time. This is the framework of evolution. Now remember evolution never states a creator can't exist. In fact it doesn't deal with creation at all but rather explaining how the diversity of life we see today came about. Its only insecure theists that see the theory of evolution as a threat to their faith. I personally don't understand how someone who has such deep belief in their faith could be bothered by the advancement of human knowledge. Maybe you can explain that to me?
But I digress. I really don't have the time to write out everything I want on this topic to illuminate you guys that don't understand evolution, so I'll just let someone else do it. Here is a nice video if you want to be taught of how much CONCRETE EVIDENCE there is for evolution. Lots of good information here provided by a Professor Ken Miller, who edited some of the biology text books you used in high school, for all you creationists who believe evolution isn't backed by solid scientific evidence.
Oh and BTW I'm not Hoowle. I've actually been just reading this board for a couple of weeks and this thread finally spurred me to register and post. I just found it hilarious how much ignorance there was on the topic by all the naysayers. Hoowle was handling the job fine educating you guys but I thought I'd join in just to show that there is more than 1 educated rational Somali on this board.

I don't have the time to write essays so ask me pointed questions and I'll give you pointed answers. Reading most of this thread I can tell from your questions that you don't have a proper understanding of evolution.
First take a high school biology course. Then maybe a college biological anthropology course. Then maybe I'll take you seriously.

btw, the watchmaker argument is a variation of the "God of the Gaps." according to some Creationists the world is so complex and we know so little of how it works, God can fill this knowledge gap. basically committing argumentum ad ignorantiam fallacy.
Since we know a complex watch must have an equally or more complex watchmaker, what about this world which is infinitely more complex than a watch? The same way u don't have to see the watchmaker to know he exists, since the watch he made is proof enough of his existence, a Supreme Being has to be behind the design of this universe....because the alternative to that would be a complex universe with noone behind it.

The Qur'an already contains accurate information pertaining to embryology, oceanography, geology, astronomy, physics, etc. The fact that this information was conveyed to us through a desert dweller who lived 1400 ago, before the advent of modern science, is enough for me to believe in the Qur'an since the information it contained is being proven correct today through modern science, one after the other.

That's the thing, there are no certainties in science and what was considered correct yesterday is wrong today....and what's considered correct today will be proven wrong tomorrow. Gravity is the single greatest element that points to the existence of a Creator. There's no other scientific explanation for how it came into existence. As for your comment about science being self-correcting and religion remaining stagnant, something that is originally correct requires no further development. Science is a process, and through trial and error, certain conclusions are made until more viable explanations are uncovered. Now, if the correct conclusion is the one you started off with, what's the need to further elaborate and investigate? Religion remaining consistent does not detract from it's authenticity, it reinforces it.
Now for the BIG one....the one thing evolutionists have never been able to explain. How do you explain gravity?
