My marker could be:
- From Mr. al-Jabarti (though a RARE marker for Yemenis)
- Independent group of Middle Easterners who arrived recently in Punt
- Very ancient stuff from Ancient Greeks / Romans / Hebrews
Only thing I know for sure is that my ancestors definitely didn’t stay in Africa forever and at one point wandered around Mesopotamia-/-Iraq

By comparison with other Darods and other Somalis here I could solve this mystery

Re: Just got my National Geographic DNA pack today
So it actualy just confirmed (for the most part) the narative of Darod clan
Re: Just got my National Geographic DNA pack today
Yemenis don't carry my ''genetic code'' (J2) in large numbers they are mostly (J1) (over 75%)seemeyer wrote:So it actualy just confirmed (for the most part) the narative of Darod clan
So it only made things more complicated. We got several Darod snetters doing the test, when their results are in we may draw conclusions
They could all be Bantus (E3a), Pygmees (B), Bushmen south africans (A), native Somalis (E3b), true Arab descendants (J1), Mesopotamians (J2) etc.

Re: Just got my National Geographic DNA pack today
i honestly do not believe even Majerteens themselves believe that they are Darood
it would shatter me if i found out i was not of the majority E3bde because everyone knows Darood, Hawiyo and maybe Isaaq, Dir Raxanweyn are the largest population populations in Somalia, this makes it impossible for anyone hailing from these tribes to be anything but E3dbe1, it would either make that person a barstard or somewhere up his lineage his ancestor was Adopted.
only tribes allowed not to be E31deb are only some of the small and medium ones like Shiekhaal, Rer Xamar etc.

Galmeygaag,
I think I am just one of the few real Darood descendants in Somalia, I think my real clan is only around ~50,000 people in Somalia. (Just think about it, one dude 500 years ago can’t possible father over 5 million people
The rest of Darod are probably incorporated native Cushites

if 77% of somalis are E3b so it's save to say majority are from the same origin.
including isaq, darood and hawiya and others.

"Cruciani et al. (2007) suggest that this sub-clade of E-V12 originated in North Africa (around Egypt and Libya), and then subsequently expanded further south into the Horn of Africa, where it is now prevalent."

Now that they're testing mummies, it would be interesting to do a test on one of the Kushite pharaohs.Ganjaweed wrote:E1b1b1a1b - the noble gene

Wouldn't they just come out nilo-saharan? Afterall the nubians/kushites were a nilosaharan people. I have a feeling a lot of "scientists" aren't gonna like what they find if pharoahs are tested. E3b, R1 or J2 are the possible haplogroups for ancient egyptians.James Dahl wrote:Now that they're testing mummies, it would be interesting to do a test on one of the Kushite pharaohs.Ganjaweed wrote:E1b1b1a1b - the noble gene
