6 pages of utter crap. I would probably say the most powerful Somali clan in history has proven to be the Isse. The only clan that has literally expanded their lands in expense of the canfar and oromo. 75% of their current land is ex-Canfar or ex- Oromo territory. That enough should tell you something and the only clan to have expanded into Isse territory are their cousins the Gadabursi. We first came as habr wadaag and seediyaal. They then lost land, over 200 years ago the iise were a considerable number in awdal and salal and now they are very very small. Their only major base is ethiopia and djibouti.

i beg to differ. Somali, an ethnic group, cant be consider a tribe due to the fact that a tribe is a group of people that share ancestral lineage, customs and value. As we know when it comes to customs, somalis in the north and those in the south are not quit similar and this could also be seen in traditions. Each tribes have their own traditions, history, customs and value. While in general, it may look the same, small differences still exist.

No my dear small and regional differences do exist as is everywhere else and within earth. But tribe denotes ethnic group. Amhara, Tigray, Massai, Afar, Fulani etc. are all tribes and ethnic group. Somali in the same way is a tribe.

In Kenya, Somali is listed as a tribe along with all the other tribes there, Massai, Kikuyu, Luo etc.

Somali is a tribe as a whole, and has different clans, sub clans, and sub sub clans.
