But in all seriousness, every situation is different, but since the question is "under any circumstance", Islamically there's a way to discipline your wife and also reasons for doing it. And you only discipline a woman who is worth disciplining. Its spoken about in the Quran, and also here is an example from seerah.
Muhammad b. Qais reported that it was ''A''isha who had narrated this: Should I not narrate to you about myself and about the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him)? We said: Yes. She said: When it was my turn for Allah''s Messenger (may peace be upon him) to spend the night with me, he turned his side, put on his mantle and took off his shoes and placed them near his feet, and spread the corner of his shawl on his bed and then lay down till he thought that I had gone to sleep. He took hold of his mantle slowly and put on the shoes slowly, and opened the door and went out and then closed it lightly. I covered my head, put on my veil and tightened my waist wrapper, and then went out following his steps till he reached Baqi''. He stood there and he stood for a long time. He then lifted his hands three times, and then returned and I also returned. He hastened his steps and I also hastened my steps. He ran and I too ran. He came (to the house) and I also came (to the house). I, however, preceded him and I entered (the house), and as I lay down in the bed, he (the Holy Prophet) entered the (house), and said: Why is it, O ''A''isha, that you are out of breath? I said: There is nothing. He said: Tell me or the Subtle and the Aware would inform me. I said: Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be ransom for you, and then I told him (the whole story). He said: Was it the darkness (of your shadow) that I saw in front of me? I said: Yes. He pushed/struck me on the chest which caused me pain, and then said: Did you think that Allah and His Apostle would deal unjustly with you?
Hadiths are the reason why some people leave Islam.
Don't you accept hadiths?

Speaking of this hadith, do you understand why the prophet got angry and asked Aisha RA 'Did you think that Allah and His Apostle would deal unjustly with you' ?

LoooL@nabz, that is very strange woman, she didn’t even care other women will gossip about her, anyway you know That is considered Domestic Violence and believe me, it will all come to disaster when some day that he mislays his patients and commit something much worse than the divorce he has been avoiding all along (commit a homicide).

In hadith RSCW said “for man’s happiness and pleasure of life is having a good wife” and for me to be that situation , Honestly, we would have gone our separate ways long before we reach to that circumstances

Depends on the circumtances. I personally think everybody has a breaking point and if the other individual involved provokes sooner or later domestic will take place. Personally I would not say I wouldn't or would, however, I am a aware that every women is another mans sister/daughter and just like I would not like my sister/daughter to be beaten will treat others with care.

Some * women* believe that if her husband does not beat the shyt out of her, is that he doesn't love her. So most of them instigate the kick-the-last-air-out-my lungs fight.

There is this Jamaican girl who lives next door and she has a different boyfriend every 3 months. The common denominator of them all is that they all beat her. Sad thing is that she has a 5 year old son who witness everything. Im tired of bailing her arse out, haa dhimato for all I care. I think she's addicted to violence.

So after the beatings, you go over to her and give a crying/leaning shoulder? What a good Samaritan.

Nah, I've intervened before cos he was slapping her around just outside the house. Laakin I realised waa tu dagaal jecel and she likes being beaten or something.

I would never be a leaning shoulder to people like her. I avoid her at all cost. I just feel sorry for her son.

I think hadiths can be controversial. Like this one, google it and you will discover an exmuslims forum, it is also a scoring point for a lot of websites dedicated to the slander against Islam and the prophet (pbuh).

Ubay ibn Ka`b said: "There occurred in my mind a sort of denial which did not occur even during the Days of Ignorance. When the Messenger of Allah - Allah bless and greet him - saw how I was affected, he slapped me on the chest. I broke into a sweat and felt as if I were looking at Allâh in fear."

Jarir ibn Abdullah Al Bajalî was sent by the Prophet - Allah bless him - on a mission to destroy Dhu Al Kahalasa, the idol-house of Khatham, nicknamed the Yemenite Kaba. Jarr narrates:

"I went along with a hundred and fifty horsemen but I could not sit steadily on horse. I mentioned it to the Messenger of Allah - Allah bless and greet him - who then struck his hand on my chest so hard that I could see the trace of his fingers on it, saying: 'O Allah! Grant him steadfastness and make him a guide of righteousness and a rightly-guided one!'

The push of chest symbolises getting rid of waswas/jinni. The word used is "lahada" meaning push and not struck according to scholars who interpreted it. You cant rely on English translation.

Harmless yelling turned into physical... Doesn't make much sense. Care to elaborate on that? I like to hear what the husband said that got him the "dacas beating" in front of guest? I'm surprise neither one of them didn't take their guest in consideration, he was dumb for yelling on her in front their guest, perhaps privately she would have been less angered. Glad he walked away since he provoked her. Both in my opinion are classless nonetheless.
