all iam saying is try to focus on the positives on each person instead of focusing on the negatives, they cant all be bad, there must be good faraxs where you live, and please let that long list of all the should's faraxs have to achieve before you aprove them die, try instead to make a wish list something you wish for but even if they are below your expectations try to give them a chance or look for something positive, your life will be soo much better and you will become less hatefull to your brothers,

I will tell you why everyone is complaining.

No body wants to compromise in the relationship every one including the moaners in here want a slave master relationship.

I mean Xalimos in here want to mix and match or blend the Islamic principle that is digestible for them with the western culture that they find favorable to them.

Thus they discard things that they view as a "VICE" from each category. Hence want to apply this to the Farax.

So for the Farax you either come with the Islamic/traditional culture or the western no mish mashing them.

For example of these are.

1.Farax to pay for the wedding expenses and be the bread winner of the family- this is fine but the problem arises when the wedding is made in the western cultural mindset where they spend the money in a way that will see the husband being financially bankrupt for the next coming 5- 10 yrs-this is called milking the bride till he bleeds. The concept of spending according to what your pocket can sustain is thrown out of the window and showing off takes the centre stage.

2.The want to cut of Farax from his family this is a western concept that suits Xalimos and they want the only visitor to be her family.Hence with her mother they want to make the farax a poodle- this is totally unislamic but guess what this is part of the mix and match.

3.Finances- The want to control the financial affairs of farax. They monitor inflows and out flows and try to restrict this outflows while they ruthlessly ignore how many/deep dents they personaly cause to his credit card. (this is not found in both the Islamic or western cultures).

4.Talking about relationships. I dont think most faraxs discuss their maritial stories with their friends but Xalimos would and this brings about a relationship that turns sour as this is not an islamic culture but of western culture preferably AA.

5. Some are used to going to clubs and drinking alcohol and engaged in all kinds of unimaginable activities. So when they get married even though their past is hidden but as we know old habits die hard she mostly will be drifted to her past leisure time activities. This is a western culture.

6.The list is long and I just highlighted a few.

As for the Farax I guesss BV highlighted hte important aspects.

BTW what do you think about the quality of Somali guys here...ofcourse with the exception of loonies like grandpa, abdisamad , Somalian boqor, Coeus etc.?
Who did I ask what? Ooooh lol next time

Half of them are politics obssessed which with Somalis means qabiil obssessed. Those ones I wouldn't trust with my house. The other half are cheap skates sheikh wannabes. Those ones I wouldn't trust with my quraan. All of them are misogynistic lazy bones. Who doesn that leave?

Haye I am sure you can think of an exception or two you favour.

Lol why are you people turning this into BlackVelvet marrying an ajnabi?

If I wanted to marry an ajnabi I wouldn't point out the flaws in faraxs to make myself feel better about it. I'd just do it. But this isn't about that. You asked what the problem was and I told you.

Black Velvet,

What people are saying dee is obvioulsy You have a pretty good read on Somali dudes and what they're about, and if a lot of their traits are not reconciable to You then maybe You shouldn't marry one.

I advice you to try to mend your flaws and start being reasonable. Then I guess you might get an opportunity to fish the farax you were looking for  8-)

Abdisamad that statement itself makes me want to rip your head off and it adds to the list. What kind of a question is that nacas yahoow.

Murax only God knows who I am going to marry. I am not marrying all faraxs with their many many faults, I am marrying 1 man who might or might not have these flaws might or might not be Somali actually I might not even end up getting married. Only God knows.

Well for one I never did, dareeen baan qaba I wouldn't feel right. in school they'd be walking looking down, somtimes even with a Quran in their hand, or some sort of Islamic book, how can I just come and talk to them. But Salamualaikum is great

Some people try to circumvent that and be like "Mashallah, u look so fine" "Subxanallah I just gotta talk to ur wali like right now" and all this nonsense. I have a more straight forward personality. I'd probably be more straight forward with those types and be like I don't have any motives other then just tryna get to know u a little bit for marriage lol

Btw Westldn, You come across as one of those types which is good
