Mogadishu is the safest it has been for years. I would rate it even more safer than the 6 months of the ICU because unlike then, theres currently no fog of war hovering above. The govt troops are friendly and mix with the public. They walk unarmed and ask for aride when they see you driving. You can refuse them and drive away. No force and robbing. I am loving it here and everuy corner is flooded with troops and public

The AS are still in town. Don't be fooled. What they currently lack is the same kind of reach that they had less than 6 months ago. Back then they were less than 500 meters from the Villa Somaliya gate.

Reer Mogadishu know each other and who is Al Shabab. They are being smoked out by all sorts of groups so this idea of Shababist on the low intermingling with the public is hard to believe for me. If you have been to xamar recently you will know that each street cornered is manned by Govt and allied militias that search for suspicious behavior and new face. Even the civilians look for suspicious people and so if theres SecCet Shabab presence its hard for me to believe.

As long as guys like "Xaaraan ku naax" and "Isbaaro ku noole" and their menace are not completely annihilated ,shot and dragged in the streets and their supports are expelled from the city and their properties nationalised then i will still doubt any peace in xamar.Yes,Somalis want peace,I want peace ,what we all want is a guine peace that will hold,endure in the long term duration and not one which is short and quick to evoporate in the extreme somali clan politics reality.

I have been talking to a relative and things have really improved. Actually, Muqdisho has the tendency to boom even at its worst hour.

So, tell us about what is happening on the corruption front? Is there a zero tolerance? or is it business as usual? how is the issue of justice? Because unless corruption is fought and unless there is justice, then the al-sheydhaans will return. People yearn for justice.

Finally, is there talk of forming a banaadir government? because I think it is time the people of Muqdisho realise TFG talk will only bring them more suffering. They should instead create a state and call the shots.

So much construction in this town of ours, its unbelievable. Theres a regular traffic jam around KM 4 everyday and the security forces are alert and much supported by the locals. Some even walk around unarmed! Am gonna post some pics in the coming day, inshallah
