Grandpa look at this beautiful verse, if it was talking about actual orbits in the sky, then wouldn't a solar eclipse be a disproof of this verse. Because the moon is over taking the sun, or the sun overtaking the moon, and they are meeting at the same time in the day, with the moon covering the sun. But Allah says "it is not for the sun to overtake the moon", already disproving that it isn't meant in an orbital sense, I take it to mean that the sun doesn't destroy the moon, though the moon is smaller, but the moon is tied to the earth afloat in it's orbit around the earth, other wise it would be taken up by the Sun.

Your tactics are similar to my trolling of Christians.

I'd pretty much invoke every Bible verse even remotely associated with discredited theories of the universe/science/etc., claim Jesus was going to burn us all in hell if we didn't start living like the Amish, who I would once in a while condemn as heretics. Usually, I'd also start waxing lyrical about the Rapture, claim Catholics were Satan's progeny, discuss the merits of burning witches, slavery, genocide for the Lord, and end my ramblings with a condemnation of Jews and blacks (Hamitic curse  ). Next week, I would claim I was converting to Catholicism, and condemn everything I spent the last week praising.

Fun times :D

Infact P_O I'll do it for you:

Ibn Kathir the great scholar and mufassir of Islam, destroys your so called mocking of the sun bowing throne

The first view) is that it refers to its fixed course of location, which is beneath the Throne, beyond the earth in that direction. Wherever it goes, it is beneath the Throne, it and all of creation, because the Throne is the roof of creation and it is not a sphere as many astronomers claim. Rather it is a dome supported by legs or pillars, carried by the angels, and it is above the universe, above the heads of people. When the sun is at its zenith at noon, it is in its closest position to Throne, and when it runs in its fourth orbit at the opposite point to its zenith, at midnight, it is in its furthest position from the Throne. At that point it prostrates and asks for permission to rise, as mentioned in the Hadiths.

Wasn't science mandatory to graduate high school? It is well known that the sun has its own orbit. The sun orbits the center of the Milky Way (which is our galaxy). It takes the sun a little over 220 million years to complete ONE orbit. This is known as a galactic year. I hope I don't need to inform any of you of the orbit of the moon.

The sun does NOT orbit the Earth.
Fighter do you believe in the theory of evolution?

No you don't.

Now let me ask you a similar question to the one u asked gp: Wasn't biology a mandatory class to graduate high school? It's well known humans evolved from a common ancestor with the apes and all the other creatures of the earth. We've been evolving the past 2.2 million years. I

First of all, Science, as amazing it is, has flaws. Science is right a lot of the time but Science can also be wrong (and that is the case for that monkey business). Remember, Science is based on theories and not absolute fact.

Do you know the most important law of physics is? Obviously the most common one that people know (and the most fundamental) is that NOTHING can travel faster than the speed of light. NOTHING.

Until we found out late last year that that is not the case and that scientists found that particles (neutrinos) travel faster than the speed of light. Can you believe how shocking this is for the science community and general society? We have always thought that nothing was faster than the speed of light. NOTHING. But, The most FUNDAMENTAL LAW IN PHYSICS HAS BEEN DESTROYED.

What I am trying to get at is that Science has proven to itself and others that it sometimes can be wrong.

However the Quran isnt. So respect the Holy Book.

Ibn Kathir died in 1373

Folks back then thought blood-letting was an acceptable treatment for nearly every disease

I might as well consult with Richard the Lionheart on how best to break a siege or some shit
